Everything is very well maintained, including a cosy wood-covered shower room. My only problem with the place was the size of the tent sites. It feels like opening a tent in your living room. There are high walls between each site to give privacy, but the rain cover of my 3-person tent pretty much spanned the width of the site. Still, a nice stay.
We rented a deluxe cabin and were impressed. The staff was very friendly and helpful, particularly Debbie. For the price ($65) we were not sure what to expect, but we got a cozy, well heated cabin with a very efficient use of space and spacious feel. The cabin had a table, four chairs, mini fridge, microwave, shower/wash room, heater, ac, king, queen and twin bunked over the queen. There was a fire pit and picnic table outside and you could see some red stone in the back and mountains in the front. The gift shop had some unique trinkets. My two complaints are the internet was a bit flaky and the heater was excessively loud (we had to turn it off when we were sleeping).
We stayed in the cabins on a trip to Torrey. The cabin was very clean and roomy. It was great to sit out on the porch and watch the beautiful sunset. The lawns are well manicured and you can tell they owners take pride in the property. Great location for a reasonable cost. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a RV spot or a cabin.
We visited for the first time on a recent trip to Capitol Reef. We had planned to pitch a tent but the overnight temps were in the 30's so we opted for a cabin. We loved it. Everything about the place is carefully tended. I especially like the fact that it's kind of small compared to most RV parks and they feature a nice green lawn as the centerpiece of the property. And the scenery behind the resort is exquisite. If I could have them improve one thing it would be the bathrooms. Why do so many parks build showers that are too small? I'm sure they're trying to save space but, jeez, would it kill you go to another foot in both directions? It would make the experience so much nicer. But that's a minor consideration. I will put this place at the top of my list when visiting CRNP in the future.
Ok, so it is becoming highly recognized by Woodall's, AAA, Good Sam, and others -- so what! Well, this park has been revitalized and is a classy and fun rest stop for the entire family. There are 36 well done, pull thru sites for RVs of every size, 30 or 50 amp power, good, clean water, sewer hookups, and better WIFI (free) than most RV parks can manage. There are also 9 rental cabins at low nightly rates, There are 21 clean tent sites partitioned off from neighbors and with fire pits everywhere. There is a friendly, fully stocked store with prices more like a WalMart than a touristy shop. The restrooms and showers are easy to use and the Canyon Grill operates out of a special covered pavilion on the grounds near the heated pool. Laundry is available, and a hair stylist has a small shop on the grounds. Sounds like it costs a bundle to stay here, huh? WRONG! The rates are very reasonable and many folks stay for a week or more at a time. One reviewer wrote that the park was not "kid friendly," but that is clearly not the case. There is a basketball court, and there is a huge lawn maintained for all sorts of games. This is more than a business, it is a well run, well maintained (thank you, Carl) and family oriented site to take in the sights, visit the area National Park (Capitol Reef) or just relax and enjoy your time among friends. Don't miss this one!
Looking for a RV park for future stays in the area and found this gem of a park. Great location, great sites, and great gift store plus they rent jeeps! Perfect.
Owner very nice, accommodated all requests. Well kept park, very clean, nice little store in front, showers for tenters.
We immediately added 2 days to our reservation once we saw the lovely views, the spacious open feel, the cleanliness and how friendly and helpful the staff were. They helped us find local services we needed as well. There are 2 large youth groups here and it is fun watching them enjoy the space without feeling bothered due to open space provided. We travels for months at a time and this is one of nicest spots we have found.
Not a family friendly place! Kids and family were confronted by one of the males constantly and not in a friendly mannor!
We stayed a couple of nights while visiting Capitol Reef. The place has a pool, showers, and large grass yard for the kids, and a great view of the areas natural features. The staff is helpful and friendly. We will definitely stay there again next time we are in the area.
The workers here are very knowledgeable and friendly, both on the phone and in person. We plan to return and spend more time. The pool is small, but the whole park area is very well planned and fun. Trees and grass around the RV parking spots. A great little gift shop/store is available.
We stayed at Thousand Lakes for 2 nights while visiting and touring Capitol Reef National Park, and The Grand Staircase Escalante Area. We got a pull-through with great views of the red mountains. The park is nice and most of the pull-thrus have nice grassy areas. The people that work there are very nice, restrooms were clean with hot water. There is a store with lots of souvenirs, laundry, little cabins for rent. There are back-in sites that are quite skinny and they are all dirt. The best sites we thought were 14, 29, 39 and 49. Full-hookups available. We would stay there again. We took the Grand Staircase Escalante Trail (Burr Trail) which was incredible. We plan on returning as there was so much to see. We travel in a motorhome with tow vehicle.
