If u are planning a trip across USA west coast its necesseary to visit this national park as well. It doesnt matter that its popularity is not as big as for example Grand canyon...but you are gonna be very surprised. Heavy breathing.
Great views around every corner! Different levels of hiking trails. End of October is a great time to visit. Not too hot and no crowds.
We made the 2+ hour ride from LV to Zion and believe it worth every minute. You are given the opportunity to drive through, stop, walk through and explore some of the most breathtaking country we've ever seen. The seemingly endless vistas, extraordinary rock formations, historic land changes through thousands of years and huge, empty spaces are simply awe inspiring. I would recommend a stop at the Visitor's Center to ground yourself and find out how what you see happened. Try not to miss Zion....it's too important to miss.
We have seen so many amazing sights since we arrived in Western America (from Australia) that we had thought we has seen it all...then we arrived at Zion National Park different , spectacular and our very good guide ensured that our shuttle trip into the park was relaxing and enjoyable. In all other parks you tend to be looking down (Grand Canyon, etc.) ...here you are looking up...different unique, spectacular views again.
Zion is a must! Extremely well run, very helpful rangers. Well marked and good advice. We enjoyed everything and it is a place when you have the time to stay for up to a week and enjoy the numerous trails
We stayed at Bryce Canyon abut drove through Zion because we'd heard such rave reviews. Since you must be driven by shuttles to most spots I'm sure we missed a lot, but I'm glad we did the drive. Whereas at Bryce you look down, at Zion you look up! Geology and weathering patterns are different too. I'd gladly return and would hope to see even more next time. Very hot day! Bring lots of water if you visit in summer.
The Zion National Park was a great sight too see, it was beautiful every where we looked. Really enjoyed the Narrows especially on a hot summer day.
Beautiful beyond description...Zion and Bryce should be your first choice of visit...best lodging, easy access..to entrance. Each has its own beauty....If you do all 5, spend a larger percentage in these 2 areas. The other three are a little bit more remote, but all in all, they bring you alive with nature. Treat for seniors...can't beat the price.
This was a wonderful beautiful trip despite the drizzle. I really enjoyed the free bus you took to many sites. It is busy despite being there in May. Camp sites were nice. We will go back.
Zion national park is one of the few places I have felt I am at most close to the nature!. This is one of the park that I can say in very well managed. It has spectacular hikes that follow the paths where ancient native people and pioneers walked. This park sandwiched between massive sandstone cliffs of reddish, magenta and purple rocks that stand up to the brilliant clean blue sky. You can watch wild life in the valley of Zion national park that runs along a river /stream and also all along through the hikes. Things to remember: You need a minimum of 2 days to enjoy Zion in any magnitude; relax and feel the Nature. You have all levels of hikes in the Zion that includes the spectrum of wheelchair to wetsuit!Make sure you have outfits to support the weather conditions; since weather can change quickly and drastically If you reserve early you can get to stay in Zion Lodge which gives you double bang for the buck. One being saying right in the middle of the park. And second being able to drive your car to all the view points by yourself with the lodge pass. For others they will have to rely on the park shuttle for moving inside the park in season.Make sure you drive route 9 since it gives you breathtaking views and a different perspective of the park ThanksRaees
One of our favorite vacations came at the suggestion of my brother. We were looking for a getaway with majestic scenery for a four day getaway. My brother suggested flying into Las Vegas and renting a car for a drive up through Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. The scenery is unsurpassed at both, but the serenity down in the canyon of Zion Nation Park was a real surprise to me. I just soaked it in! This was very early spring so there was still snow on the ground in Bryce Canyon. That is one of the most beautiful sights I have ever enjoyed. The colors were magnificent....and softened by the patches of snow made it breathtaking. We also took the time to go over thru Monument Valley, Page Arizona and the slot canyons and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. It was a lot to see in so little time, but since we are older now and do most of our sight seeing from the car, it could not have been better.
This is a must see. We spent 6 days in Las Vegas and took a day to drive here. So glad we did, will definitely go again. If your in the area, I would highly recommend you go see Zion National Park. The entrance fee is $25 dollars per car which was well worth it.
