We were just passing through from Furnace Creek, CA to Springdale, UT when we saw the sign for "Buffalo Burgers" and I'm so glad we stopped. Definitely a refreshing change from the overpriced, dull food we had eaten at a restaurant in California the night before. Here, every dish is made from scratch when you order and with such obvious care. We each had Buffalo Burgers that were thick and juicy, with fresh cut fries. This would normally be the highlight for me, but my favorite part was actually the salad, made with super fresh lettuce, sharp red onions, diced tomato and avocado topped with an amazing homemade raspberry vinaigrette. We don't usually go for the dessert, but we couldn't resist trying the fresh, homemade peanut butter pie, with a chocolate crumb crust and a generous topping of whipped cream. And there were so many other delicious menu options that we can't wait for the change to go back. To top things off, the service was prompt and super friendly. Be prepared for warm and engaging conversation. Certainly one of the greatest places I've ever eaten.
We visited this place this evening with 2 couples (all Belgian) after visiting the Zion national park today and I couldn't wait to write this review. We went to this restaurant because my friends are huge fans of burgers and they read about this place in our tourist guide. I'm honoustly not such a fan of burgers but joined my friends. We came in and were warmly welcomed by Bob, a man with many great, honest stories about the region (provides great advice) and his past (lived with Native Americans). He is managing this restaurant and store on his own!All 4 of us ordered burgers, and when we got them we finished them in speed tempo, so fresh, juicy and tasty! Really the best burger I've ever had! When we were in the restaurant, there was only one other guest besides us, so we did not get the typical crowdy & touristic feeling you might have around the parcs. You could call this a hidden gem I guess. The atmosphere & the stories you get in this place is the exact reason why I love travelling so much!Thank you Bob and good luck with the shop & restaurant! Small remark: make sure people can find the place also in the 'restaurant' section on tripadvisor (currently not the case).
The fetching Mrs. and I spent the day hiking in the snow and rain on the Upper Kolob Plateau, stopped in to warm up and eat. Bob greeted us and prepared a couple of great tasting Buffalo Burgers! Gave us the local perspective on things and we enjoyed the experience very much. Will return!
If you like Bison, you'll appreciate this burger, fries and salad. Best Bison burger we have had in a long time. YUM !!!! The owner's company is a plus too; he's a down-to-earth guy who likes to talk your ears off but it's all good. The Trading Post is good for antiques, Indian artifacts and even some special gifts. If you like browsing and antique shopping then you'll love combining your favorite food and shopping.
Bob runs the Buffalo Trails Trading Company and offers a great tasting buffalo burger. You need to look past the eclectic mix of furniture, furnishing, antiques and curios and appreciate that he has great buffalo burgers and very good jerky. The place has that western frontier charm - wooden floorboards and a thin layer of dust. But don't let that prejudice your taste buds. The buffalo burgers are excellent. We declined the standard fries and opted for freshly made coleslaw which was delicious. You'll have time between placing your order and its arrival to take a wander through the trading post checking out the range of merchandise. We had spent five weeks in the USA and this was our first opportunity to taste genuine buffalo burger. We weren't disappointed. I'd like to rate the restaurant higher, but I honestly can't. This is not a fine dining experience, but the buffalo burger makes it worthwhile.
