Fun place for summer concerts of small groups. Wines are on the sweet side but they have a red that is OK. I like the very dry wines so not fair for me to judge. I've known the owner for several years and he's a nice person and fun to visit.

If you take the time to go out here, this place is so nice. It's in a log cabin and has a great outdoor area. I also think they do summer concerts here with small bands and songwriters. The wines are mostly sweet wines, because that's what TN does and what can actually grow here. It's a nice little place off the beaten path. It's part of the Natchez Trace Wine Trail too, so if you plan on visiting the other 3 wineries, buy a bottle at each and get a glass.

My husband and I recently stopped by the Grinder's Switch Winery on a whim because we saw the signs from the road. Grinder's Switch was the town that Minnie Pearl made famous in her comedy routine. She was actually from Centerville and Grinder's Switch is a small area just outside Centerville. The winery was established in 2006 and sits off the road. It looks like a rural cabin sitting in the woods. We were there in the winter but I'll bet it is beautiful in the Spring and Summer. Besides wine tasting there are also several items for purchase. I bought some soap. We tried several different wines and bought a couple of bottles along with a wine glass. There were several customers there even in the winter; I'll bet the place in packed in the summer.Overall, it is a neat little place to stop at on your way through.

This was such a joy to find. We enjoyed the trip into Centerville and most definitely enjoyed the visit with the wine maker/owner. He was very fun to visit with and the wine was great. Some winemakers just have the "nack" of making great wine and he is definitely one of them.Great place, great wine.

Great side trip to visit the home of Sarah Cannon (Minnie Pearl) and visit a unique little winery at the same time. Tucked back on a side street in a great setting with friendly wonderful staff.

Stopped as a side trip from Memphis to Nashville. Great little place and good wine. Had both dry and sweet.

I am sure you have often wondered if the place that Minnie Pearl talked so much about existed. It did and still does! A few short miles down the Minnie Pearl Expressway off I 40 you will see signs to the left that lead you to the quaint Grinder's switch Winery. There in the cool of several old trees and beautiful flowers, you will find a small company store with tasting room. The ambience of the room is very nice and refreshing. The Winery has a few offerings from dry wines to the sweet and everything in between for you taste. The owner gives a brief history and the tasting begins. The store is not cluttered with tourist offerings, it sells a few items other than wines. We will return!
