I have been going to this course for a couple years now but not enough to be considered a regular and my last trip was on 9/9/14 and I love the challenging beauty of the course but today I brought some friends that were new to the game so I was teaching them the ropes on hole 1 and before we even got off the tee an employee stops us and tells us that we don't have enough golf clubs to play. I have a full set I tell the employee and we aren't holding anyone up since we were the last reservation. So in other words because new players didn't have a set of $500 clubs like mine we were forced to leave. It seems to me that since I have been frequenting this place for years and never heard of this rule especially since I have done this same thing a few times before that this place will make up any rule that they want and expect you to adhere to it. But the biggest smack in the face that this place did was that when I wanted a refund they had to call the office manager to make sure that it was okay since technically I did hit one ball from the tee it was worth the price of 3 people at 40 bucks a pop. So all in all i will not ever visit this beautiful course again because of the rude and uptight employees that stay in your way on the fairway on mowers and don't make the experience enjoyable even with beer.

On July 25th we brought a foresome to play Crockett. Since this was the day after heavy rains, it was obvious why the course was "cart paths only". We, and all other golfers adhered to the cart path rule and trudged the hilly course. Behind us was the "course owner" and 5 of his cronies, all in separate carts driving all over the rough and fairways (even pulling their carts up on the t-boxes). Just visualize 6 people, in 6 separate carts, sloshing through the water and mud holes all over the fairways and rough, tearing it up even more than it already was. A course ranger named Jim Hunt confronted us early on the front nine, warning us that we should pick up the pace (I guess he wanted us to run the hills through the water and mud). He was the most despicable and rude person I have ever encountered in 45 years of playing golf. His "reasoning" was that, if his boss (course owner) caught up to us in their 6 carts, he would have us thrown off the course! My analysis is that either the owner is the worst business man in the area by setting a precedent in front of many paying customers following the cart path rule or, he is just plain stupid and arrogant by expressing the fact that "I am the owner of this course and can do anything I want, even if it means tearing up my own course and not giving a damn about any of my paying customers. Needless to say, after this experience, I,and many others will never patronize this course again. Furthermore, if many others feel the same way, this man could be put out of business, which is where he really belongs. Understanding that the ranger had a fear of his boss and was following orders, but if he had any integrity at all he would quit his job rather than be part of such rudeness!

We had four to play today 7/25/14. The course was cart path only so a lot of walking was in order. Sand traps were full of water. Ranger Jim Hunt followed us all morning and on the fifth hole he told us that the owner and his 5 playing partners were behind us and that we may have to let them through because the owner did not like to wait. The Ranger told us to keep going but that we may need to wait at the clubhouse before we went to # 10 to let the owner and his 5 partners through. We were going by the cart path only rules but we noticed that the owner and his 5 partners were driving all 6 carts everywhere. The Ranger comes back on # nine and says for us to go on to #10 since the owner and his 5 partners would stop at the clubhouse to eat. On #10 the Ranger came up to us on the green and said the owner and his 5 partners did not stop so we probably would have to let them through or we could go to the clubhouse and get a rain check and come back another day. We still were not holding them up even with our group having to walk and the owner and his 5 partners each with a cart were driving to their ball so we continued. On #15 the Ranger came back and said we were going to have to speed up play although the owner and his 5 partners had not caught us yet. They were getting closer though since they were driving to their ball and we also observed them driving up on the tee boxes behind us. Again the Ranger offered us a rain check and we counter offered to just give us our money back and we would leave. He said OK to this so we got in our carts and left. I have never been treated this way before at any golf course so Crockett Ridge will not be a recommended course to play.

This golf course is a challenge with many different types of holes. What you can usually count on is hills. The greens are well maintained and can be tricky.

We visit many golf courses who dread the woman golfer, not knowing we shoot in the 90's. These people made us feel welcomed. The facilities for women, were okay. Public, well landscaped, lots of sand. Blake even directed us to local Mom & Pop BBQ place that was excellent. All that and affordable too.

Today will be the last time I go to this golf course. The workers there are completely rude and disrespectful. Four friends and I went today to celebrate my buddy's wedding next week. It was the groom and his four groomsmen. It was raining so the course was almost empty but they made a big deal about the 5 of us playing together. One of the workers came behind us in a cart and watched us from a distance for two holes which made us feel uncomfortable. He then came up and said we needed to split up into a group of 3 and then 2. I said there was no one behind us and we were trying to play together. He said it didn't matter and I asked again why it was a big deal. He said that is the weekend rules and to deal with it to which I replied that would make sense if it busy. I said if this is how this place operates, I would not plan on coming back to which he replied he didn't care. Great customer service...not! I would understand if there were people behind us or if the course was even slightly busy. Also, we were playing faster with 5 than the 2 people in front of us. But other than us and that group, I think I saw one or two other groups the whole time I was there. It was just completely rude to make that big of deal over something that did not impact anything or anyone on their course. We then made it to the 18th hole where a different worker drove by us and said that starting next weekend their rates were going up $10. It just seemed weird that a random person would come by and say something that would detract you from wanting to come back. Well my decision to come back was already made by that point and I will never step foot on that course again. And as a person that plays golf almost weekly, I will be more than happy to give my money to another local course.

I am not a golfer, but he and his buddies play often at Crockett Ridge. He locked his keys up in his car and I had to drive out and unlock the car. The place was very pretty. I wanted to be nosey and go in the club house, lol, but just unlocked the car and left. If he says it's nice, it's nice.

Playable for a beginner, interesting landscape, friendly and well kept. I play here least twice a month in the summer...

The course has a great layout. Greens are always terrific and true. Very enjoyable to play. Will return

Well maintained. Reasonable prices. Courteous staff. Provides a very nice practice area/driving range. I take out of town guests here to play. It is somewhat difficult to find so have your GPS handy.

The golf course if fun to play. Not always in great shape but in pretty decent shape most of the time. The staff is very nice and friendly and the workers are always courteous when around the course.

We found this course on the web and stopped by on our travels north. The course is superior to nearby Clear Creek and the price was only $30 including cart. The pro shop is lovely and the reception was very hospitable. We loved the elevation changes on the course but the back 9 fairwyays are adjacent to each other so many golfers were sitting under incoming shots. Green conditions were very good but a tad slow. This course is a winner and one that we wil play again.

I really like this course except for the blind holes. I want to be able to see my ball on every hole, I don't always put them down the middle.

Great course for the money. Semi challenging layout with nice greens. Much better than Meadowview in my opinion.
