I have only been here twice, but both times it has been bad. Let me start by saying the theater is nice and clean. The problems are the cost of the refreshments and getting in and out of the parking area. It is almost impossible to find a parking space. When you finally do, you better hope that someone will let you out of it. There are only two ways out of there and they are extremely congested and the road is also busy. They really need to purchase some more land around it and offer more entrances and exits. I know movie theaters make their money on the refreshments but this is ridiculous. A 20 ounce water was $4.50. I could have purchased a case of water for that. Next time I will bring my own.
Nothing special here. Parking is awful when there's a popular movie showing and it's difficult to get in and out, sometimes have to park on the grass. Lines are long for concessions and prices are way too high as most theaters these days. Can buy a bucket for the year and get $3.75 refills all year so that helps. They don't stagger the movies enough so everyone's in line at once, I never have understood that. The staff aren't exactly breaking their backs to get you into the movie on time in concessions or in the ticket line. Popcorn is only so-so. But Murfreesboro doesn't have much of a choice if they want to see a movie. Premiere is good if you don't care about ambience.
This Movie theatre is consistently clean and neat, and the parking is plentiful and safely lit. We have never been disappointed in any of our visits to see a movie there. The "stadium" type seating always assures that you will have an unobstructed view of the screen and the sound systems are top notch. As usual with most theaters, the food and drinks are overpriced, but I understand this is the only way for the theatre to actually make money, so I let it slide.
The Carmike Cinema on Cason Lane generally has decent service - the staff are friendly and seem to be engaged in what they are doing. We signed up for a rewards card, which is free and definitely comes in handy. Today, we spent $1.95 for a HUGE tub of popcorn and 2 large drinks. The concession stand worker helped us spend our rewards to get the best deal. Of course, as most theaters are, the concessions are ridiculously overpriced, so the rewards pay off.Generally the theaters are clean, and the chairs are comfy. Today, the theater we were in was quite musty and warm - which, in my experience, is not the norm. The bathroom, on the other hand, are often filthy - make sure to go before you leave the house. The one BIG drawback to the this theater is the decibel level inside the theaters can sometimes be downright painful it's so loud. Today, I was informed that they are unable to adjust the volume for commercials - which were so loud, the other patrons in the theater were holding their hands over their ears. When sound levels are THAT loud (I could literally hear the commercials plain as day OUTSIDE the theater), there is not just a potential, but a likelihood of hearing damage. I mention this, not as someone who enjoys silence, but rather as someone with a home theater of our own - I can appreciate good, clear surround sound. But when the volume is so loud, you literally can't even hear what is being said to you from less than a foot away, that's a problem. My suggestions: Get the rewards card. Bring earplugs. Enjoy your movie. Hope you don't leave with bleeding ears.
It feels like Carmike Theaters just want your money while they provide no customer service. People are not familiar with the "high tech" soda fountain and no one is around to help people use it. They don't tell you that you have to dispense your own butter for popcorn. They do not remind customers to use their "rewards cards". Concession stand workers do not inform customers. Maybe it's because workers can work 60 hours or more, and not get paid over time benefits. Carmike Theaters are just another greedy large business to take your money and run! I will still be driving many miles just to go to a Marcus Theater.
Place has quite location ,which is safe and kept cleanIt is little hard to get to because of traffic situation etc.
Great theater, with lots of showings and availability. Movies are a pricey activity but wonderful indoor activity.
This is the largest theater in the area, but they don't always have the latest movies we'd like to see. We often have to drive to Franklin to see movies that are considered more cutting edge and off the beaten path while this theater has about 3 of the same title. Ugh.
Large and very clean inside. Great seats with ample room. Safe parking. Very friendly staff. Great place to see the latest movies.
first off, I very rarely go to see a movie and was reminded why this is so...Movie I chose to watch was scheduled for 7:00pm..I almost fell asleep waiting for the movie to start...previews are not why I pay to see a movie...am I the only one who just want to go in and watch the movie..period?
Like the theatre, Arcade is mostly broken or junk, theatre is pretty clean, chairs are comfortable, and they upgrade chairs within reasonable timeframes, getting in and out is easy, prices are good for admission, prices are high for refreshments.
We live in Murfreesboro and frequent the Carmike Cinema. It is clean, and a typical theater. The prices are typical and the staff are pleasant.
Just accept what I've told you I want (popcorn, Coke, etc) and stop asking me over and over again if I want a larger size, candy, etc. I get tired of saying no and even have to get rude about it.I will say on a positive note, that this theater has a variety of movies and lots of showtimes.
Multiple theatre choices and friendly staff make for an enjoyable experience. My husband and I saw a 3-D movie on a Sunday afternoon and it was awesome here! Take a jacket...it is chilly inside!
I have been coming to this place for years and I love everything that it offers. It might need some updating, but overall it's a good place to go see a movie. It seems to get crowded so fast, so I would recommend going earlier during the day.
