This course has truly turned around compared to the last summer. There is a new management team that took over and is really changing the place. The course looks absolutely amazing and very cleaned up. The parking lot does need work with the pot holes but overall it was a great course. The food was great! I recommend the bratwurst! The staff was very helpful and welcoming, girls at the bar were great and made some wonderful drinks. People should definitely give this course another go around! It is really turning around!

Overall a very interesting course with varying terrain, challenging greens and some scenic views of Castle Rock, Pikes Peak and the Front Range. Several of the par 3s were quite challenging, while the 4s and 5s had a nice mix of elevation changes, water hazards, native vegetation and some tough traps. I felt that the course was in excellent shape - I had expected it to be somewhat dumpy based on other reviews. Perhaps it was only in good shape from all of the recent moisture. The infrastructure of the course (parking lot, course signage, paths, web site that is unnavigable and especially the dilapidated clubhouse) really needs to be addressed. The management needs to change or be improved. Three friends and I purchased a Groupon for $40/each included 18 holes + cart, free dinner, range balls and a sleeve of balls. Sweet deal! However, we teed off 90 minutes late due to a thunderstorm and lack of direction from staff (seemed as if the clubhouse staff preferred that everybody leave?) didn't get the range balls, clubhouse had zero inventory and when we made the turn at around 6PM to get our 'free' meal, the entire clubhouse was shut down? An HOUR prior to sunset on our 15th hole, we were asked by the 'ranger' to return the carts and our day was over. What? For $40, it really was a nice deal. However, if you can't find a similar deal there is no way that this course is worth $60-$70 for greens fees. There are simply many other nice, well-managed courses in metro Denver to choose from at better rates (and closer drives).

This was once a spectacular golf course. Pete Dye designed the course to be a "stadium" course for major tournaments, including a major Champions Tour stop. It has subsequently gone through many financial problems.The course stands today as a shell of its former self. Perhaps, this is most vividly demonstrated by the rotting exterior beams that "support" the roof of the clubhouse as you approach from the parking lot. [I wonder how long it will be before the City government tags the building and prohibits anyone from entering.]The course maintenance is virtually nonexistent. As a consequence, the condition of the course has suffered. This is a good place to play if you can get a bargain price during the week. However, you need to be cautious. I learned that management overbooks tee times on the weekends and does not care about the pace of play. The beverage cart woman told me that the course is typically vacant during the week. Consequently, if you can get a "good" price for a weekday, playing here is a good alternative to the more expensive courses in the immediate area.

Got a tee time for Friday morning. You strike me as a golfer that is more conscious about the lay out, managing the conditions and the intricacies of the course ... I'm more into your taste and preferences opposed to amenities, food & course staff. Looking forward to the round based on your review! I'll write my review next week!

Perhaps I lack the critical eye eye and voice of some recent posters on Plum Creek, so I am hesitant to say that my daughter (a great golfer ) and I had a wonderful day on the course last week. Sure I last played Plum a decade ago in its heyday, but to read the horrible reviews of late I expected a worn track of hard dirt without charm or challenge had taken over, Au contraire fellow golfers! The holes are still Pete Dye enchanting, fairways are green and lush, and the greens were challenging in perfect shape. Maybe some folks don't appreciate the natural grass roughs, but it is Colorado prairie outside of the fairways. The water hazards are beautiful and tough; I did not notice any trash in the water but appreciated the long carries and tight island green.I agree that the clubhouse is tired and food services limited; so we had a beer and burger and enjoyed the mountain view terrace; worked for me. The staff was very pleasant on all issues and the price seemed fair to me. So everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but we had a great day on a real good course in my humble opinion. Yes there are fancier clubs and lusher courses, and I do play them too; but I like this course a lot and the price and accessibility work well for me.

Clubhouse is closed and shape of course is hit and miss.Can play cheap in off season, but grass is not in good shape.

After golfing the Ridge at Castle Pines this course was a big disappointment. The fairways were very soggy! I didn't like how the fairways ended well before the greens... Will not return.

This is coming from someone who has the good fortune of living right on this golf course. I just had to review the course after reading a negative review made by someone last month.The golf course has gone public - however it is not as bad as previously stated.I was sitting on my deck overlooking the course today as I do every weekend when the weather permits - The course appears to be just fine - golfers all looked to be having a great round and the play seemed to flow well.We have been members of this golf course for many years - when it was a private course.Yes it has changed but I have never seen golf carts racing or "seedy" players looking for a restroom. So come on out and give it a try - nice place to visit and great place to golf!

This is coming from someone who has the misfortune of living off of this golf course. When I first moved here, it was a well-maintained course. A little old, sure, but the owners took pride in it to keep it running nicely and attractive to decent clientele. We would often go over to the clubhouse to eat, and the swimming pool near the clubhouse would always be full of families and kids splashing around and playing in the summer.What a difference five years has made. The new owners have completely let this place go. The pool is abandoned and empty (this is year #2 of it not being open), there is nothing at the clubhouse anymore (so don't pay attention to their website, which says they have dining and banquet facilities, what a joke) and I'm tired of being outside of my home seeing CREEPY clientele doing drugs, using the golf carts as race carts, screaming obscenities at one another, and peeing on the trees. Yes, I was on my deck just now and witnessed a group of men drop trou right in front of me as I sat eating dinner on my back deck. Apparently, one can now only assume--the restrooms at the clubhouse are broken and out of service just like everything else. I wouldn't be surprised. This place is gross, disgusting, and at this point I hope it goes out of business. I don't care what it'll do to my property values--anything has to be better than what is going on right now. The owners of this course clearly only care about collecting cheap green fees, not running a decent, clean, or respectable business in Castle Rock. Do NOT go here--it is well worth your while to your business to Red Hawk Ridge or Bear Dance instead.

I've played Plum Creek a number of times over the years. It's one of my favorites with a nice combination of varying terrain and challenges. Years ago the Senior Tour played here. The three finishing holes make the day with a long par 5, a very short but difficult par 3, and dangerous par 4. I'd say it's best suited for the lower handicappers but all my friends like it regardless of skill level. Give it a try if you have the chance.

If you catch this course at the right time, it is worth every penny. When it dries out, it can be frustrating. The track is somewhat narrow and it can be a challenge. However, for the price, worth the trip.

This country club is in very distressed condition. the course is a challenge but not kept up very well.

Great value and the course is in great condition. 35 minutes from Denver, but worth the drive. Beautiful layout and great price. Good food in the clubhouse.
