Ballooning had always been on our bucket lists and it was all that we imagined it would be and more! This is something you can't miss in ridgeway Colorado. With the blue skies and majestic mountains, it can't get much better than that! We got engaged on our trip and it was the perfect and most unforgettable proposal ever and we couldn't have done it without Gary and his team! He was very personable and accommodating from taking many pictures of us to letting us be as involved in the process as we wanted to be. He was very knowledgeable and experienced and to top it all off, we ended the adventure with a champagne toast, the balloonist prayer and a beautiful and delicious brunch! We highly recommend this outdoor adventure to anyone who wants to see the breathtaking Colorado terrain! Many thanks to Gary and jake for making our engagement so special! We hope to fly with you again!

We took our first hot air balloon ride this morning and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great floating through the air and seeing the world below from a totally different perspective. We watched prairie dogs scurrying from hole to hole, saw a fox running through the trees and a group of buck mule deers leaping through the landscape. The view of the San Juan mountains was magnificent from so high up.What we really appreciated was that we were able to watch and help the crew set up the balloon as well as break down the rig after out flight. This made the experience much more interesting,Gary was great, and we enjoyed his stories about the history of ballooning while we enjoyed our champagne brunch. His crew, Jake and Dakota, were very personable young men. All in all, an amazing experience. If you're in the Montrose-Ridgeway-Ouray area, you should seriously consider taking a ride with San Juan Balloon Adventures.

We actually created an account just to rate this! It was an amazing trip and experience, and definitely a must for anyone visiting the area.

We had booked our balloon ride with Gary a month in advance but we found out that the weather has to be almost perfect for him to take off since he is a licensed balloon pilot and takes the safety of his passengers very seriously. While we waited, we were entertained with stories of the area and facts about balloon flying. We were disappointed when he finally scrubbed the flight and informed us that he was booked for the next day. He did promise to try and get one another balloonists to take us up alongside his. The next day was perfect and Eddie, Gary's former balloon instructor, arrived just in time. We all went up together which gave us the opportunity to exchange pictures with the couple in the other balloon. The trip lasted about an hour and a half and was breathtaking. This was one of my "bucket list" items that was well worth the money. After the flight, we were treated to a champagne brunch with pastries and fruit from the local bakery. We also received a more thorough and entertaining education of the history of ballooning. If the weather is right, this is a must.
