We went there for my brothers fifteenth birthday and had so much fun, Maureen was super nice and funny! It was a perfect birthday for him
Some friends and I went up to Steamboat this past weekend for a bachelor party. 3QC is located really close to downtown Steamboat Springs. Maureen was an AMAZING instructor and accommodated all of our needs! She provided a lesson before we went out on the course that was extremely helpful to both experienced and first-time shooters. She taught about the types of guns, how to hold them properly, proper safety techniques, and we did not leave the training range until each of us had shot a clay. VERY friendly and encouraging! We did the 100 target option with 5 of us which took about 5 hours from start to finish (training and safety included).I would DEFINITELY recommend this place to anyone who loves the outdoors and wants to spend an extended amount of times with family or friends. Check out the picture below! Thanks Maureen!
This club has a great owner/operator in Maureen. She knows how to treat visitors being that she is very helpful and polite, she sets a great course with 12 stations all of which are breakable with a skeet choke, and we did not have one broken target during the entire day! Facility has it all: rental guns, ammo, carts, and even shooting apparel. Also she charged very reasonable rates for all of the above. I will be back!!! 5-stand was great if I only could have killed the #8!!
What a great experience! We (3 women) were all beginners. None of us ever used a shotgun. Maureen did a great job! She explained the different types of guns, she fitted us properly, she should us how to shoot properly and most importantly she emphasized gun safety. She was very patient with each of us. With her instruction, we were all able to hit several clay targets. I would highly recommend this for anyone but especially beginners.
An excellent facility with 12 clay stations that will challenge even the most experienced shooter. #11 is especially hard when the wind brings the bird back over your head. Very well maintained and the staff the excellent and very experienced.
Maureen was WONDERFUL!!!! She provided expert patient instruction making our first time trying sporting clays a very positive experience!!! We had Great Fun!! Also the range has beautiful views and it is very easy to reach. About 6 miles north of downtown on US 40.We look forward to returning and improving!
Wow! What fun! From the initial introductions and range safety instruction, through gun selection and instruction/practice on the parking lot range, our host Maureen, demonstrated her thorough knowledge and love of the sport. She was patient with our less experienced shooters and made sure that they felt comfortable with techniques she was teaching. As for the course, as Maureen described, it was similar to playing a round of golf - with shotguns! Each station provides a new challenge and view. In this case, the autumn leaves were in full color and the mountain tops covered in yesterday's snow - just awesome! The 12 stations take you in a full circle back to the parking lot. When she heard my son had kicked everyone's butt - Maureen laughed and asked "he plays video games doesn't he?" The smiles on everyone's faces as we left proved we had chosen wisely - a perfect afternoon with family and friends.
We Did 100 Targets On The Sporting Clays Course And Really Enjoyed It. Since We Already Had Experience In Trap The Gal Just Pointed Out The Course And Let Us Go. It Made For A Fun Afternoon.
I would highly recommend this as a family outing while visiting Steamboat area. You learn an appreciation for guns. Maureen (owner) is knowledgable, understanding, and makes your time there very fun! We did this with another family and everyone loved it. We had two 12 yr. olds and 4 adults. The 10 yr old was not yet ready to hold a heavy shotgun, but there's always next year!
Nice place to test your skill with the 12 stand sporting clays. Beautiful area and views. Shotguns for rent and shells for purchase, very friendly people.
We contacted Maureen regarding use of their facility while we were in town. My wife has limited shooting experience, and we have two sons, eight and eleven, with limited shooting experience. She said they could take us and have time to do a little training for the newer shooters. The range is on a hill with great views of the valley. it is fully functional with automatic machines on a full sporting clays course and a five stand. They have carts available if you are interested. They had all the equipment necessary for shooting, 12 and 20, with well maintained equipment and guns. What we did not expect was the level of hospitality (no other word for it) and the care with which we were treated. Maureen took us through some basic rules - safety is first here. She was clear that the children might not get to shoot, depending on how they handled the firearms and listened. She spent time with Mom and Dad, helping us with our skills and comfort. Moving on to the children, she helped the 11 year old take his first shots and hit his first clays. He was ecstatic!Maureen determined the 8 year old was not quite up to handling a gun - too heavy for him. However, she had a trusty Red Rider BB gun with her. She took the 8 year old to shoot BB's at clays on a mound near (but clear of) the shooting area. He was thrilled to participate and gained some practical skills in handling the weapon (where not to point, how to aim).In all, Maureen was able to spend two hours with us - giving us great pointers, helping us find good approach, assuring the children had a truly positive experience, and, most importantly, assuring safety. We will definintely come back to this business again, and recommend it for experienced shooters (neat stations), inexperienced shooters, and families.
