ooms conservation area at sutherland pond

The place was totally white, the pond was frozen, and it was so peaceful and quiet. The trails are simple, but perfect for those who want to spend some hours contemplating the nature. I could also observe some good variaty of birds flying around.

This is just a beautiful walk in nature, plain and simple. There are a few trails to choose from, but they all go around the pond with views of rolling hills in all directions.

I love the foresight of groups like Columbia Land Conservancy, and Hubby and I have enjoyed discovering its various parks. This one is our new favorite! Rolling hills, wide vistas, clear walking paths, and great birding. This is a beautiful, peaceful, accessible treasure.

We stumbled upon Ooms while driving around Columbia County. There are 3 miles of trails that meander through a beautiful meadow and a little through the woods. There's also a small pond where you can fish and kayak. Be sure to bring a camera, as there are many beautiful vistas. You can spend as much or as little time here and get a lot out of it.

This is a lovely conservation area that we accidentally stumbled upon. If you're ever in Columbia County, New York, make it a point to spend some time at Ooms. There is a mowed trail that ambles around the pond, and up and down the hills. There are many benches to sit on to take in the beautiful meadows and wildflowers. There are also grassy areas to just rest or play in. There were also people fishing and kayaking in the pond. It's the type of place that has something for everyone.
