The Tug Hill Vineyard has outstanding wine and gorgeous views from anywhere on the property. Sundays on the veranda with your friends and a glass of wine are a must when you are in the area. . My favorite is the 43 Degree Lat, it is the perfect blush. My favorite time of year at the Tug Hill Vineyard is fall, the grounds and the surrounding countryside are covered with native maples and birch rich in color . Mike and Sue Maring provide all of their guests with warm throws and heat the veranda so that you can relax with a cup of coffee with brunch and enjoy the crisp fall air! it should be on everyone's "to do" list when in the area!
The Tug Hill Vineyard has a beautiful view from the screened in deck and the wine is award winning. They have a great Sunday Brunch that is always packed and the wines are exceptional.
We have always had good experiences at the winery! So beautiful and relaxing there! Thursday evening wine downs are always fun with friends and music and of coarse Wine!!!!
What a treat! Lovely, flavorful meal and pretty grounds. We had a birthday brunch here and I'm so glad we did. Simply enjoyable and fun! We were definitely made to feel at home. Bloody mary was "the best I've ever had!"
I visited Tug Hill Vineyard for the first time this month and I was really impressed my visit. We made reservations for the early Sunday morning brunch and there was nothing but phenomenal food. I would suggest making reservations before hand because it was very busy. After we ate, we did the wine tasting. They have a good selection of sweet and dry wine for you to choose from. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. They also have a gift shop where you do your tasting that had cute gifts and wine themed decor. I went in August so raspberries were just ending and blueberries were starting. We picked berries. You can take a golf cart and go out into the field and pick berries if you want too. They have different Fruits/berries coming in and out of season. Overall it was a great time and nice to know we have places like this in upstate New York. I will definitely be returning!
I'd come upon a flyer for Tug Hill Vineyards at our local chamber of commerce and decided to take my husband away for a few hours on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We were surprised that we hadn't heard about this gem before - - it's a gorgeous spot and the folks are so friendly and hospitable. A wedding reception was going on, but we could still do a tasting and bought several bottles of wine. The wedding guests had just made their way down to a fabulous tent which left the lovely stone deck area free, so we each bought a glass of our favorite wine and sipped leisurely enjoying the beautiful view. Afterward, Mark suggested we take the golf cart out and explore the vineyard WHICH WAS GREAT FUN! In addition to the vines, they've got apple trees, blueberry & raspberry bushes (which you can pick on your own). A couple of their friendly dogs were traipsing about, and it was just a terrific day, relaxed & happy! I highly recommend you stop if you're ever in the area. We'll go back to try their Sunday brunch another time w/friends.
We took our friends here for the Sunday Brunch and everything was spectacular from the food to the service. What made it particularly special was the venue. This small winery is located in the heart of the Tug Hill in Central NY, nationaly know for his large amounts of snowfall. So, you can imagine our surprise to see a producing vineyard in this area. The grounds are beautifully groomed and the restaurant overlooks a large tract of land with rolling hills spotted with farms. An idyllic setting for a casual day out. Afterwards you can go downstairs to their tasting room and enjoy a sampling of their reds and whites. We bought several.
This was the second trip to the winery. The wine tasting was a little rushed due to an ongoing wedding. The wines for the most part were very good. Great view and beautifully landscaped grounds. U-pick fresh blue berrys and raspberries on well maintained gardens. We also have had their Sunday brunch. Screened in porch overlooks the valley and windmills.very good drinks and food. Highly recommended.
We enjoying Tug Hill about once a month for Sunday brunch and wine tasting. A great little vineyard and venue in Lowville. A great local visit.
Beautiful, relaxing the brunch was awesome. Scenery breath taking. The wine excellent. The whole morning was enjoyable the staff so pleasant. My Mom ,daughter and I will be back the next trip up that way.
This certainly was a surprise after driving down a dirt road, then WOW! This place is beautiful. We stopped to give it a shot! We were the only ones there and it was wonderful. We tasted, bought wines and got a glass with the cheese / crackers and sat outside for a beautiful day and view. We even joined the wine club! We are definitely going back for brunch, I can't wait!
Tug Hill's brunch is not to be missed! There is a wide selection of food, from the health conscious to the indulgent. The wines are also terrific. You can taste a few and bring some home from the adorable shop downstairs. If you have kids, you might want to consider carving out some time for berry-picking if you're there in season. Overall, this is a great place to visit!
Coming back from Watertown on Route 12 we saw the sign for the winery and decided to give it a try. They were doing a wine tasting for a large group so we took our time exploring the beautiful grounds and enjoying the view out across the valley. Once we got to the tasting we found several wines that we liked and purchased. It will be a definite stop on future trips.
Could not have asked for a better venue for a Sunday family and friends' brunch. Our seating was at 11:30 and despite the number of brunch goers, we were seated promptly. Our server was very attentive and guided us through the meal. Food was abundant and freshly prepared, including produce from the vineyard's gardens. We followed the meal with a tasting in the tasting room below and a stroll in the vineyard and orchard.Reservations are a must here. The brunch is understandably very popular and the dining room and terrace were filled.
What a gem! Brunch had a large variety, served fresh and was yummy. That said, the real attraction is the view and the wine! My husband and I love to try the local wines wherever we visit; we drank a lot of Tug Hill Wine while visiting friends in the area. The wines are delightful and priced right. The wine gift shop is also a pleasant surprise. I also attended the Thursday evening, event, had the meat and cheese platter, it was good. The music was fun and many danced, especially after a few glasses!
