The Haven is a lovely spa in an old Victorian home. The staff is very professional. Very relaxing atmosphere.

I went for the 1st time 2 weeks ago for micro dermabrasion. The young woman was very good and plesant. It was very peaceful and relaxing. I made another appt. for a future facial. Everyone was very nice and professional.

I arrived in New York after a long day on airplanes. I was in pain from a pulled muscle. Since I had been to the Haven Spa on previous trips I walked in hoping to get a massage. I was lucky and an appointment was available. Pain relieved. Great massage, great staff. A bit pricey. The ambience is very peaceful. Even got a great pair of sandals.

I was given a day at Haven spa for a gift, I was not sure what to expect. As I walked into the spa I was greeted by many friendly people. I was brought to a changing room and given a glass of bubbly to drink while I waited,, which was not long.. The entire time I spent there was one great moment after another. I enjoyed every second of my afternoon at Haven Spa and will return again gladly when I am in the area. The staff are every experienced and professional and i would recommend anyone to go there. I have been patronizing the spa for several years. The ambience is incomparable to any other spa in the area. The treatment from the professional staff is consistent and professional, yet friendly. So, why did I not give the spa a 5 star rating, you may ask? On two occasions I had a negative experience with a pedicure. On one occasion my foot callouses were filed so roughly and extensively that the bottom of my feet were raw in spots. I was fortunate I did not get an infection. The second occasion involved cutting into the side of the toenail. It bled and was sore for days. Unfortunately, I now do my own pedicures at home. Just another thing to be aware of. They would like you to call for cancellations in advance, but there were two incidents whereby a phone call was not made to the patron informing of an employee cancelation.

Can not be beat, atmosphere, staff, ambiance..perfection. Very peaceful, products used thoughtfully selected and researched. Never rushed, decor beautiful.

I have been going to the same aesthetician for a couple of years now. I arrived to my recent appointment and the receptionist was surprised to see me being that my aesthetician had a family emergency (on the previous day) and was unable to hold her appointments. I obviously would have appreciated a phone call to cancel my appointment rather than 3- yes 3- confirmations (two texts and one call) confirming my appointment. One confirmation came two hours prior to the appointment. In the past, I celebrated my birthday at Haven with several friends and family members. My brother had an emergency on the day of our appointments, and Haven held him to the cost of his service even thought we had around $700 of other services booked. After that, I only returned if someone bought me a gift certificate or strictly for aesthetic appointments. When the last minute cancellation situation was in reverse, there was no accountability for Haven. The receptionist wasn’t prepared to have my services done by someone else, and couldn’t seem to find another time for me in the near future. She finally found a 9:00 am time slot two days later. When I arrived for the rescheduled appointment, she was again surprised to see me saying that she had me on the schedule for 12:30 and asked where I live as though I could reasonably be expected to return at 12:30 despite their mistake. I left completely disenchanted. This was extremely unprofessional. Additionally, the aesthetician should have been able to count on her employer to be sure her appointments were dealt with accordingly in her absence. I have watched this spa disintegrate from rose petals on the massage tables in the early days, to the situation I just mentioned. Dutchess and nearby Ulster counties have stellar spas that I have patronized for my body, massage and facial treatments, so if you are in the area, I suggest looking elsewhere.

The massage was very nice, but the facility is cramped and the policies are not customer-friendly. The first time I came here I had a bad experience (they wouldn't let me use a gift card because it was 13 months since it had been bought and they "expire" after 12 months.) I'd been saving it for a special occasion only to have it be worth nothing. This time I was hoping I'd have a better experience. I had a 10% off certificate and came in with my husband for a couples massage. They would only let me use the certificate on ONE of us which barely saved us anything. Also, there was barely anywhere to sit and wait (the waiting area is small and not just for robe-wearing guests, which is a bit awkward). There are no lockers so you have to put all of your clothes into a zippered bag which gets carried around - just weird. I won't be returning.

My boyfriend took me away from our Queens apartment for the weekend to a lovely town in upstate NY and bought me one of the Haven spa packages that included a 60min massage and spa mani/pedi. The facility looks like a charming old fashioned house from the outside (wrapped in a big red bow, literally) and has several relaxing rooms inside. The massage was excellent and I could barely move afterwards, I was so relaxed. Very professional and very respectful about keeping everything in your comfort zone.I was skeptical about the manicure/pedicure combo which supposedly take an hour each, but both were fantastic. My technician was Sylvia and my nails came out perfect. It's been well over a week and there is still not so much as a chip among them. Just flawless nails that are starting to grow out. I was beyond impressed with this spa and would gladly go back. Definitely recommend.

I recently moved to the Hudson Valley, and was in search of a new favorite spa. I have been to a few spas, and I have to say that Haven is the best. I love the no cell phone policy, and I was warmly greeted when I walked in. Haven is luxurious, yet inviting, and that combination can be difficult to achieve. The relaxation room was beautiful, and the plush robe was cozy. I received the Environ facial, which I was unfamiliar with. The esthetician asked me about my skincare routine, any concerns I had, and explained what was happening if I had any questions throughout the facial. The accompanying massage was great too. The esthetician could not have been friendlier, more helpful, or knowledgeable, and she was a fantastic listener. While she briefly recommended products for me to use, she was not pushy, which I've encountered at other spas. I love skincare and read a lot about new products/technology/practices, and have to say that the Environ facial is incredible. My skin was glowing afterward, and when I met up with a friend that evening, she was so impressed that she's started getting them. I've read a couple reviews complaining about the customer service or that folks at Haven have an attitude, but each and every person I encountered at this spa could not have been friendlier. Next on my list? I'm going to try the spa mani/pedi package.

I've been going to Haven since it opened and have been pleased with its reliably excellent services, whether they be massages, facials, or pedis. One time I was absorbed in a magazine, so didn't notice until too late that the new technician had done a pretty bad job applying the polish. I was pressed for time so couldn't take care of it then, but did mention at the desk that I wasn't happy with the work. They loaned me the polish so I could touch up at home, and later called me to schedule a complimentary pedicure. The new nail room is beautiful and comfortable, and I believe they offer the best value pedicures in the area. I enjoy the complimentary tea, the hot neck wraps, the excellent service, all for the price you would expect to pay at a place with inferior atmosphere. And they've proven that satisfaction is guaranteed.

Well, it's a Spa. The massage is what I go for and they provide a nice environment to have it in. Relaxing and elegant space. The massage itself was nice. Well trained and professional staff in a very nice setting.
