This is the third year we have rented from Raquette River Outfitters. Each year we have followed their recommendations and had great trips in beautiful places as a result. This year we finally did the "classic", Long Lake to the Raquette River, and back to Tupper Lake. Cassie's recommendations about timing were super helpful, and her directions to the best camp sites were spot on! Advice on our first big carry also made it, well, a walk in the woods...Anyone can rent you a canoe, but not everyone will help you find the best routes for accessing remote areas away from the hustle and bustle of everywhere else. Now, for our next trip...

Hubby, 3 y.o., 6 y.o., and I were going to venture out on two tandem kayaks from the RRO store in Tupper Lake to the Wild Center, which is about a 1 - 1.5 hour trip, one way. This was to be our first time on the water with the kids. We were gently nudged to take one canoe for the four of us. GREAT advice.They also had life jackets to fit our 3 y.o., and they sent us with an extra oar, just in case (we didn't need it, tyvm!).The price was also very reasonable - all day for $45. They also rent on an hourly basis from their other launch point. The canoeing was the highlight of our trip to ADK. Thank you, RRO!

The quality of customer serice that my wife and I received from Raquette River Outfitters simply could not have been better. They went far beyond what I would have expected and my only regret is that we do not live closer and that I could give them more of our business. We were new to kayaks and as our first experience with them and paddling in the Adirondacks, Anne and Ron could not have made it better.

This is the 3rd consecutive year we've used RRO to outfit our canoe camping trip. The experience has been great each time. Clearly, Ann and Ron are outdoors people themselves, they have good equipment and have offered us good advice each trip. This past trip also included shuttling our car and all went very smoothly with that as well. Would recommend to anyone looking to outfit a paddling trip in Adirondack Park.
