Welcome to "The Action Track of the East"Come and join us for an evening of fun and entertainment at Utica-Rome Speedway! The speedway is an ultra fast 1/2-mile red clay auto racing oval located on Route 5 in Vernon, NY. Every Sunday night at 6:00pm during the summer we offer fantastic dirt track action. Featured weekly are Big Block/Small Block Modifieds, Sportsman, Pro Stocks, and Pure Stocks. We provide exciting, action packed entertainment that the entire family can affordably enjoy! I attend the races there tonight much to my disappointment. The admission prices have been raised this year and the number of cars have decreased. Races start at 6pm, by 6:35 all the heats had been completed with a average of 5-8 car per heat. The intermission was longer then it took to run the heats. Food prices have been raised to outlandish , not family friendly, prices. So if you are looking for a bargain here, forget it. I could tell from looking at the number of people in the stands that this place has gone down hill. The 50-50 drawings use to be in the 1000's now they are around 4-5 hundred. For you racing fans same old winners because there isn't any completion. Suggest you spend your time somewhere else on Sunday evenings.
