We dined here on the recommendation of my stepson. We were a party of 8, which included 2 children. The food was nothing special: average pub style choices. Yes, I believe no entrée was above $5, but there are no refills on sodas or iced tea, which really impacts the check. I would rather pay more for a well - prepared meal, than to pay for a total of 9 iced teas and countless sodas. It was ridiculous. Someone ordered the poutine, which in appearance, was a true appetite suppressant. I know this dish and it doesn't have to look like a train wreck. The two who ordered this were not fans of the flavors. Service however, was great and they do have a full and extensive bar and appetizer menu. I can say it is probably a good place for families with small children; just be sure you order water to drink or only have one round. Attractive old mill brick building...Parking was easy to find on street.
It's one of Biddeford's best kept secrets. Good food at unimaginably low prices. If you blink your eyes, you could easily pass it as the outside sign is subdued and it looks just like any of the old mill buildings in the area. There's on-street parking and you can possibly find parking room across the street where the previous trash-to-energy, (MERC) was located. Inside, the décor is uninspiring, but you're there for comfort food and beverages served by an efficient and friendly waitstaff. Nothing on the menu cost is over $5!!! The menu features a somewhat, but adequate selection of food ranging from marinated steaks to fish, hamburgers and chicken. The presentation leaves something to be desired, but if you're looking for miniscule portions served in an elegant artistic format on fine china at outrageous prices--then you'd be better off heading to Portland or the Kennebunk--Ogunquit-Wells corridor and read about it in Portland's Sunday Telegram's dining section that's written by a pretentious (and obnoxious) restaurant reviewer. What you will find at Mulligan's is tasty, home-style cooking served in large portions.Over the years we've had just about every item on the menu and have never been disappointed. It's crowded almost every day between 5-7 pm, so be prepared to wait a while for a table, especially on weekends. Best times to go are before 5 pm and after 7pm when the crowds and wait times are more reasonable, (5 minutes or less).
A converted mill, with fun decor and an enthusiastic clientele. We ordered decent steaks for $5 (a little extra for toppings), with several flavoring options. Huge burgers. Very nice haddock chowder. Friendly and efficient wait staff.
