saco river canoe & kayak

The past 2 years I have gone camping in Fryeburg and spent a day (5 hours of it) floating in tubes down the Saco river. I am not exaggerating when I saw this is the most relaxing day of the summer. Just floating down in a tube, absorbing the sun, and "hydrating" is one of the best parts of this trip. The first year i rented rubes with Saco River Canoe and Kayak and had a 5 star performance. This year I attempted to save a few dollars and bring my own tube and float…FAIL. Saco River Canoe and Kayak set me up with a perfect place on the river. I overlooked that this time and did my own thing. Accidentally choosing to float down the river where there was little to no current and even a DAM that forced us to get out of the water and walk around. Big mistake. Needless to say, i will be avoiding pioneering on my own and will stick to renting with Saco River Canoe and Kayak.

We took four family members, ages 10-70, on a tubing trip down the Saco River in July 2014. Saco River Canoe and Kayak supplied us with tubes and a cooler carrier, plus their driver dropped us all off at Snows Falls and picked us up at the Canoe Bridge as soon as we called 4 hours later. We brought our own lunch and snacks. Their service and equipment are excellent, and their facility is neat and well-maintained. The river was Sandy and gentle and real Maine. We went on a weekday, the River is busy on weekends. Besides tubes, Saco River Canoe and Kayak also rents canoes and kayaks for all-day and overnight trips.
