Great staff, easy access to all shelfs and a great reading room with a fireplace that heats the room in the winter.A great collection of DVD to check out.
We attended the book sale and craft festival this past summer, on the lawn of the library. Everyone was so welcoming, there were crafts and activities for children, and delicious food too. The library itself is an absolutely beautiful building, with an adorable faerie garden behind it that is truly enchanting. I picked up some fabulous reading material for unbelievable prices too!
If they don't have your book on the shelf, they'll order it for you. And you can reserve books through the online catalogue. In need of a computer terminal? The library has several top-end stations ready for you. Superb library serving a vibrant Maine town.
Our family loves the KFL. I borrow books all the time, my daughter and husband download e-books, and my son visits every Saturday. Personnel are friendly and helpful.
Beautiful, cozy library, with helpful, knowledgeable librarians -- a great place to spend a rainy afternoon or rent obscure DVD's. LOVE the May Day Faerie House display!
We stopped in just to look. This building has it's own history so check it out. It is a great quite place if you need a break
I like the staff at the Kennebunk Library--they're all helpful, knowledgeable and respectful. Need to fill in gaps in dvd tv series season-years. They do seem to try to accommodate patron's requests for particular reading material, cds and dvds, though.
If you need a friendly place to relax, use a computer, browse some books or magazines this is the spot. This library works hard to be relevant in today's changing environment and they succeed. There are new and different programs for all ages.
I concur with all of the previous reviews that have been submitted about KFL. It's a great community resource with loads of information, tons of reference materials and a great and helpful staff!!!
As a resident of Kennebunk, I frequent Kennebunk Free Library often. The building is very unique as it is composed of 2 sections - the original building and the "L" that was added about 20 years ago. From the outside, you'd never know there is a new section it's so perfectly done. Befitting our small town, this is a small but amazingly complete library. There is a large, diverse children/teen section in the basement along with a community room. The main floor houses the adult fiction and nonfiction, reference books, DVDs, audio books, several computers,, periodicals and two rooms with very comfortable seating. The library's web site is a wealth of information especially their catalog. Ebooks can be borrowed through the State system. The staff is exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable knowing most of the patrons on a first name basis. The library is definitely part of the community holding several annual events and dozens of programs for especially for children and teens. Like the Brick Store Museum, I consider the Kennebunk Free Library a Kennebunk treasure.
To get a feel for this town of Kennebunk, visit the KFL. They are up-to-date in all media and are full of information for children, teens, and adults. The welcome children's library is separate from the adult area providing a wealth of books and information for children. Programs and information are provided for all. Come visit and find a quiet place to rest with reading material.
These folks do a first rate job. Visit and see why the community is so proud of this institution. Something for all ages including computer access.
Worked perfect for attending an offered class. Ample parking was a real plus for my 70 year old Mom. The friendly, informative staff gave us a sense of belonging. We stop in on other visiting occasions now.
A perfect example of a New England style library. Ample parking, a shelf by the door of free magazines. Another of book you can buy to help support the library. A wonderful reading room which is well stocked with a variety of magazines, and even a puzzle to work on.
This library is growing and evolving so fast. They even have a "cafe". Phenomenal collection of audio books and movies, great fairie gardens, children's programs and concerts. A true community treasure. FREE WI-FI!!!!
