I love Sugarloaf! We've been going at least once a year for the past 25 years. Great challenging runs, plenty of room and a great little ski village with local brews and good food.

Pros: Big mountain. Long Drop. Fast lifts. A T-Bar. Friendly staff. Great shuttle service. Long drive from out of state. Cons: Long drive from in state.

Terrain and Community like nowhere else, biggest mountain east of the rockies, best people in the world

My kids learned to ski here and now my grandson! He started this past weekend. The Learn to Ski people and operations are flawless. From getting equipment to handing the kids over Sugarloaf is the best. And not too crowded ... in a crowd! How do they do that? If you are taking your kids to learn to ski start here.

Friends recommend this vacation to us---and we are thrilled, and excited. It is a refreshing change from a typical all inclusive southern vacation. Food and facilities are amazing. Very convenient. Friendly staff who go out of their way to help you, and such a beautiful location--incredible views. Excellent ski school and lessons for intermediates. We are hooked--and newly minted proud Sugarloafers!

This is our year to try out east coast resorts after 7 seasons at Killington. PROS: Sugarloaf mountain is a great mountain with nice trails, friendly workers, a nice lodge and good terrain. I didn't get to ride all of it though, particularly the glades that I wanted but maybe another time as it hasn't snowed for a couple of days leaving ice patches exposed in the afternoons-pretty typical east coast. Also we stayed in the condos and we LOVED the ski on/ski off ability for a great price. CONS: the long chairs, (they should consider a gondola or a bubble chair especially for the negative degree days-like today) and the many crossover/traverse trails. They're just annoying to frequently have to look up the mountain especially when you're visiting and haven't exactly memorized the trail map. NEUTRAL: The other key point which is neither good nor bad is that their skill level rating for trails seems a bit different than what I'm used to. We took a few blues that seemed to have some steep pitches similar to a black diamond but I bet they were rated blue because they were so wide. Then there were a few thinner, windy black diamonds that weren't to steep at all, just thinner in width. I wish they had more thinner trails because the snow sticks better when they're not so wide but that is a matter of preference because my husband likes the wide trails.

We just spent five days at Sugarloaf Mountain. The mountain is fantastic. There are trails that will satisfy all abilities. While we were there, we experienced all types of conditions. Day 1 greeted us with a wind hold on the upper mountain. Days two and three were blue bird days with great groomed conditions. Day four had 8" of fresh pow. Day five was cold and windy. A few negatives were the base area layout, food service, some crazy trail intersection and little off mountain non-outdoors activities. But if you are a serious skier who wants to ski until your legs age gonna fall off, then you must try Sugarloaf.

Great atmosphere. Huge mountain. Skiing for all levels. Short lift lines. Can be cold as Antarctica in Jan-Feb.I have skied and boarded almost 50 years at maybe 100 different mountains large and small. This is THE BEST. PERIOD.

Sugarloaf Mountain was one of the best places I've skied yet! My family and I go there almost every winter and we always have a blast. But Mountain Adventure, the ski school, always takes away from the experience. The past two times we've gone there my son has been put in the wrong group. And not only that but he says some of the instructors aren't always nice and it is always very hectic and chaotic. It's a very bad place to learn how to ski or improve your skills. The mountain is excellent, but I just wish the ski school was better.

Great mountain for skiing. Conditions were the best with fresh snow in the morning. Well groomed trails.

Huge mountain with well over 500 acres to ride or ski. Tons of lifts so the lines go quick and again this mountain is gigantic so there's not many people on one trail at one point in time.

I grew up skiing here and it only keeps getting better and better! donut truck by the lodge, black diamond burrito at lunchtime, shipyard brews apres ski. Oh! and the mountain is the most family friendly keeping it real place to ski!!

Nice ... big & busy (we skied one day only, a Sunday) ... would definitely like to go back mid-week. Bag Burger was very good.

Sugarloaf is a stunning mountain with something for everyone. We went snowboarding after a huge storm - practically had the mountain to ourselves with perfectly fresh powder. There's tougher backcountry style trails, but also easier family-friendly trails. Wish we lived closer! We'll be back soon.

Something for everyone. Ski, Snowboard, terrain parks, Glades and Trees, All level of trails, cross country ski, skate, snowshoe,... and that is just the winter. Great family place, decent nightlife for those so inclined. Plenty of places to eat. Tip - Book thru the Sugarloaf web site. They often include lift tickets, etc.
