Not exactly the place to go on a Friday or Saturday night if you're looking for fun. Fights and parking lot brawls are common occurrence weekends after 10:30pm. Once you're in the parking lot, bouncers could care less and I've seen more than a few people get busted up out there while security does virtually nothing. I've seen more brawls inside and outside of this bar than any other establishment I've ever visited. Lots of local yocal Maine hick types. Very dress down casual atmosphere. No need to dress for a night out because most of the clientele come out to the club in their best work boots, sweatshirt/flannel, hunting camo, etc. if you're dressed for "the club", you'll stand out like a soar thumb and can expect to be messed with by the hick types once they get a few drinks in them. Especially if you're male and on the dance floor!O.k., atmosphere for a sports bar, but weeknights are dead. Usually less than 20 people. Weekends consist of the same half dozen local garage bands week after week in the back room with the dance floor, or, on some nights a DJ. If you want to come out and dance the night away, than you better be fast, because nobody shows up until 10:30pm! And thats if they come at all!The dance floor and band/DJ stops playing at 12am. A full hour before last call. Also, it's only about 1 out of ten nights where there's a crowd. Lots of nights with the band of DJ playing to a full back room dance floor with less than 15 people in the room! Not exactly "the club" by any means! Food and billards area are good, but that's about it. If you go on a weeknight, there's silence in the bar! If you want some music than you have to pay for it on the jukebox machine! There's also no coat check. If you want to dance, you have to leave your jacket, purse, etc at a table or along the wall. Had a nice jacket stollen here while watching a band one night..People don't go here because it's the place to be. They go because it's the only night place in town! After visiting most weekends for two years, I finally gave up on finding a good time here, Better off to go 15 miles to Portland or Old Orchard Beach.
Their food has improved along with the hospitality. I don't know if it was due to going on a Friday night. However, the food had improved an our service was great. I was happy that they try to keep the music down to allow for conversation in the dining and billiards area.
Had not visited in about a year. Was in the mood for some pool and wings and/or dinner. On the menu is lists "jumbo wings" at $6 for 6. I figured at a buck a piece they would be big. But, no very small and over cooked. They used to have waitress service (cute ones too), but not anymore I guess...cause the bartender chuckled when I picked a table and asked about it. My friend ordered lasagna, it was hot on the outside and super cold in the middle. None of the cheese was melted, so it was clearly microwaved. Pasta burnt on the edges. Sad night out. I do like the pool tables and the beer is cold. Service was friendly. Won't eat there anymore for sure. Jumbo wings....I expected them to be bigger then normal. Too funny!
