hartley's pork pies

Hartleys Pork Pie Shop (for take out) is one of those rare businesses that has been open for a VERY long time, has changed virtually nothing, and is still in business making the same fantastic pork pies. The shop is so tiny, I think only 3 customers at a time could fit in! You can get pork or meat and potatoes, but the hot ones with the juices bubbling on top are the best! You do need to watch their hours though. But worth it. DELISH!!!

love the pork pies , this is the real deal ! I have been eating the meat pies as long as I can remember . everyone heads to Hartley's for their meat pies. I don't know of anyplace that even comes close !

I've beeen eating Hartley's Pork Pies since I was a child and they have never changed. Walking into the shop is like visiting a pie shop in England or Scotland. I've never developed a tatse for the Salmon pies available only on Friday but the Chicken Pot Pie is delicous. Don't forget to ask if they have any "cripples" which are pies that are broken and not quite up to their standard.

Every once in a while, I'd drive the "back way" from Pawtucket, RI, to my parents' house in Massachusetts. Hartley's Pork Pies was along the way. It is a tiny storefront that is only open a few days a week and usually looks busy when it is. One day I stopped out of pure curiousity. After that, the "back way" became the regular way to my parents' house! Delicious, homemade, savory pies. Definitely worh the drive!

My grandfather used to take me with him to pick up pies when I was a child. They are yummy. My favorite is the meat and potatoe. I no longer live in RI, But when I get back we always have at least one family gettogether and I always request that someone order and pick up some Hartley's meat and potatoe pies. Some day I will have to try the other pies, but when you are hooked, you are hooked. They usually run out so make sure you get your early.

THe best meat, pork and chicken pies in the world. Don't believe me, go there and try one.You will be hooked.

I have gone to Hartley's for 60 years and knew the original owners on a personal basisand I now live in Georgia; desperately wishing someone could get me some and send them to me through UPS. They are the best ever and it something you will never forget once you eat one. I've been going to Hartley's Pork Pies since I was a very small child. The pies are delish!!!!! Do not be mislead by the operations appearance. It is a very very small meat pie pick up spot. They pretty much have only a pick up counter out front w/ room to stand in line. While standing you can check out some photos of the Queen! The operation is open only a few days a week and they sell out VERY quickly. My father went there when he was a child. He was taken by his father. We all love the pies. I take them to work for parties and the positive responsive is overwhelming. I have NEVER heard one negative comment about these meat pies. Take the ride, its so worth it. My favorite is the Meat and Potato. Yum Yum!
