mowry conservation area

I have been going to Mowry Conservation Area for several years to hike in the woods and walk the dog. Beautiful and peaceful area.

A tiny hidden gem in Smithfield. Stream. Old mill ruins, bridge and hiking trails. Did a Girl Scout crossover on the bridge. Great place for walking the dog, hiking or playing in the stream.

Mowry is small but all ages will enjoy the trails on this wooded conservation land. Street parking available across from the reserve. Review the trail map and head for the little footbridge to start your hike. The entrance is especially nice with the natural “water feature” and pond kids will love. There are two main trails. The Red trail is ½ mile and the yellow trail is ¾ miles. Combined makes for a pleasant light hike where you will encounter a scenic pine woodland forest with rocky formations and slight elevation.
