We go here often as we live in town. They recently renovated the trailhead so it is easier and safer to get down to the trail. Excellent job there! The woods are quite and serene and we love it. Bring sturdy hiking shoes or good sneakers and a small backpack for a drink and a snack. Cameras are always good too. We have a 4 yo and a 2.5 yo and they walk in and out no problem. We take breaks as needed. Also don't miss the tower greets you at the top from the parking area. What a view! Free, fun, and nature...

Great trails ... Spent some time snapping pictures with my chickie and my son.... Nice observation tower ... If you're into history... And remnants of a fort... Check this out by all means.... Also a little historical cemetery is off to the side.... That could use some tending .... We enjoyed ourselves ....
