The building that brought back Providence and began its renaissance You can see the direction the architects planned for the city in the tall towers atop the mall and the clean brick exterior that makes it almost look like a castle. Inside are your three anchors (JCPenny, Nordstrom and Macy's), but outside are a variety of restaurants (Cheesecake Factory, Fire and Ice, Melting Pot and Uno) while inside is a wide range of shops for different tastes, including one of the only large Apple Store's outside of Boston. For people who are arriving in Providence by train, the mall looms large right on your horizon and takes less than three minutes to walk to. It's a perfect meeting spot and has both a movie theatre (including IMAX) and a family arcade/restaurant in Dave and Busters overlooking the food court. Of all the malls I've been to in the New England area this is by far the best and it's not even close. The parking can get annoying (but the rates have declined over the last decade) especially during the holiday season, but it is very well maintain and safe.Take the time to stroll through the mall, it will be worth a good hour or two of your time at least.
It is located close to the Rhode island state house. Has a good food court with plenty of choices and is in a good place to start your Providence visit.
Its a nice place to go out for shopping with friends and family.Good varity of shops, I love the "lush" on the 3rd floorThe restrooms are cleanThe parking rates are minimal i.e $2 for 5hoursBut the elevators are really very slow. Now as we have a baby we have to use the elevators which take centuries and is very very slow, so instead of using the mall elevators we use the one in Macy's which is much quick. Its something which we learned ourselves with experience ;)
Anytime you can park for free is amazing in New England. The mall is massive and has anything you could want. Also a little tip if you want to go for Water Fire, just park here and walk!
First of all you can enter directly into the Cityside parking garage when you head south on Rt. 95. It's very convenient. As for the parking charge ... $2 for the first 5 hours. If you park longer then 5 hours it will cost you $10. Access from the parking into the mall is available on all three levels. There are two parking garage areas ... CitysIde near Macy's at one end and Stateside near Nordstrom's at the other endThere are three main levels to the mall with everything from Nordstrom's and Macy's to your usual kiosks. There is also an IMAX theatre. We didn't see any vacant storefronts. That has to be a good sign. You'll find a list of stores, restaurants and movie theaters here: http://www.providenceplace.com/directoryReasonably priced and convenient parking, Good variety of retail shopping, Good assortment of restaurants along Francis St. And everything was clean. Who could ask for anything more.
In the heart of the city, right at the interstate 95 junction the shopping center offer a huge choice of brands for furnishing houses, wear, department store, as well as fashion shops. The mall is very convenient and nicely decorated. Ideal shopping surrounding if you wish to avoid the downtown area with its outside shopping.
I love this place, once I enter, I just have to keep on buying stuff. Sometimes I over do it. And I like the atmosphere... People are so nice over here.
lots of great shops for all types of budgets. had a great time and after you shop you can catch a movie or go to dave and busters.
This is one of my favorites place to go. Lots of stores but I on the down side the maps a little confusing. I also would love to see a book store there.
I came across this mall while I was on a business trip. This mall is fairly big with 3 plus levels and it seems like they have all the normal stores including the big chain anchor stores. There is a Dave and busters attached as well as a movie theater. I didn't drive but there is a parking garage and pay kiosks throughout the mall entrances. Be sure to carry you parking pass with you to pay before you leave the mall. The mall was clean and well maintained. I saw a number of security walking around. The mall has a good court and some bigger food chains attached to it like Paneea Bread, PF Changs, and UNO. Of note, there is a cvs on the corner that can only be accessed from the street.
Providence place mall is a very nice place to shopping I used to go shopping every weekAnd this mall are near downtown providence also there are some nice food at the 3floor. You better to try they food when you go shopping.
I am a local so I visit the mall a lot. Whether it's for some food, a new pair of shoes, some makeup, or a quick outfit. I always know exactly where to go, and where to find the best deals. Depending on the time of the year depends on how packed or not the mall will be. The lines in the food court are always consistent, and you get your food in a timely manner, always. I like taking my time when I’m shopping for outfits. I don't always get the same service depending on which stores I’m shopping. The traffic going through the stores differ, so in some places I won't even get asked if I need any assistance at all. I've worked in retail so that's completely understandable. I'm completely capable of finding an associate if I do need assistance at all with something. It's pleasing in the more slow paced stores to have someone try to help you decide on what to pick, or help look for something particular. I think the mall is a nice place to go either alone or with a group of friends. There's a lot to catch your eye, and plenty to do.
Providence Place Mall is in downtown Providence, easily accessible from I-95, a good place to stop if you are traveling between Boston and New York. The attached parking garage is $2 to park up to 5 hours. The mall doesn't cover a ton of surface area, but it is a lot of floors. The spectrum of stores is large- you have a Spencer's Gifts, but also a Tiffany & Co. Main anchor stores are Nordstrom and Macy's. There is a food court, an 16 screen movie theater with IMAX, a Dave and Buster's, a Bed Bath and Beyond, and a bunch of restaurants including the Cheesecake Factory. Note: the parking garage can be very confusing. Make a special effort to remember where you parked, where you entered the mall, etc.
Good array of shops, being a visitor from England there seemed to be a good selection of individual stores rather than huge 'chain' stores. We had difficulty parking on the lower levels but we found something eventually! The Mall is easy to get around. We ate there too! I believe it is 'downtown' so I think it is in a convenience location! I needed The Apple Shop which is located here-staff as always at any Apple Shop 1st rate!
Great variety of stores; pricey parking, however, and the garage is a tad cramped and dark. But once you're in the mall, it is an experience.
