I was at the falls for less than two hours, but wanted to stay much longer to explore the trails and other features. The power of the water flowing over the falls is impressive as well as the rainbow created by the mist and the morning sun. Do not pass this by.http://youtu.be/RAZDRhf21gM

Great views, beautiful Lodge. Very clean, great food at the lodge! We live about 15 minutes from the park, so we visit often. It's great for a day hike, about 20 minutes drive from interstate 75. Well worth the drive.

We stumbled upon this park whilst taking care of personal business in Corbin. Was not a planned trip.The snow was lightly falling and it was freezing. Coming from summer in Australia not really prepared clothes wise for the cold.We braved it and we're not disappointed.The falls were amazing and the overall views were beautiful.We walked a little on a trail and the atmosphere was like a little winter wonderland .I would recommend a visit regardless of weather. You must see the falls.There are other activities such as horse riding and trails. I would return in the spring or summer to take advantage of water activities.

Our family drove to Cumberland Falls for the expressed reason of viewing a "Moonbow." This is one of only two locations in the world where this happens. The drive there was beautiful, as was the state park as a whole. We hiked and rode horses, but the Moonbow was elusive! It did not show up. However, because the state park was so well managed and beautiful, we would finitely go back.

After a winding drive on 25W through the woods (with beautiful mountain vistas sprinkled here and there) you arrive at Cumberland Falls in the Daniel Boone Forrest. The falls can easily be seen from the pathways with only a short walk required. My 83 year old mother was able to easily navigate the sidewalks to the first viewing area. She was unable to trek further into the woods, but even these paths are pretty easy to walk/climb and I (a 53 yr old lady) had no difficulties making my way further in and down to the Cumberland river banks. There were plenty of photo opportunities and one could easily spend days trekking through the woods. There is a gift shop/store, which was closed for lunch, as I visited during the off season. There are (heated) restrooms on site, and though they smelled a bit like old urine, they looked relatively clean. They had flushable toilets and running water to wash your hands.After a short visit, I jumped in the car, drove across the beautiful bridge just up from the falls area and parked my car on the gravel area on the other side. After a short walk I was able to view the river and falls from a much more exciting vantage point. There is a sign warning of bear and that thought alone made me realize I'm really in the wilderness out here... a thrilling undercurrent added to my hike. I wish I could have visited in the fall when all the leaves are in their blazing glory, or during a full moon so I could have seen the moon bow... we missed that by days. It will definitely be added to my bucket list. In spite of the unusually cold weather, it was a beautiful site to behold and definitely worth the trip.

Cumberland falls is considered the Niagara of the south and it really is something! It's a wide beautiful waterfall that plunges into the Cumberland river. Make sure you hike the trail to Eagle falls too! It's one you don't want to miss!

Was more than expected. The current was very strong the day we visited. It was chilly so only went to first overlook. Gift shop was open and very reasonably priced. Would like to visit in summer.

I found a perfect place to put my canoe into the Cumberland River and float to Cumberland Falls State park only a 17 mile trip. I only camp dispersed camping, sometimes referred to as Renegade Camping, Primitive or Backcountry camping and boondocking is basically,•Camping OUTSIDE of designated campground areas.•Camping with no power, no services and no modern luxuries.•Camping with No Crowds. It’s just you, and the great outdoors.As a general rule, this type of camping is usually done on public lands well away from any established roads. Scattered throughout the United States there are millions of acres of public land where you can setup and camp, most of which won’t cost you a single cent. The one I love the most is in the Daniel Boone National Forest. The mere sight of something awe-inspiring. You stand before it, a chill comes over you and your breath becomes shallow and measured. One can only imagine the early settlers making their way with Daniel Boone down the Cumberland River to the Falls for the first time. The feeling they must have gotten is likely similar to what a modern tourist might feel when faced with that same breathtaking vista. Canoeing the upper Cumberland River to Cumberland Falls State Park in Kentucky is on my list of breathtaking views around the globe.The canoe lunch located on HWY 204, Whitley County, Williamsburg, Kentucky, Upper Cumberland River is a public canoe lunch only 16 miles up river from Cumberland Falls State Park. You can tent camp in the National Park free also.

Stay at the DuPont Lodge and enjoy the natural surrounding that the falls offers. There are many trails to lead you to the Cumberland River and also another falls not far from Cumberland Falls. The gift shop at the park is full of gifts. Riverview Restaurant has great food but not a lot of choices like other restaurants but you don't get tired of it.

We here at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park is aware of the Wi-Fi issues. We are working diligently with our Central Office to improve on this issue. If all goes as planned, we should have this issued taken care of by the end of February.

We had out-of-state family in for Thanksgiving holiday, who had never been here. I took them to the Natural Arch and Cumberland Falls, among several places for a day-trip. They all loved Cumberland Falls... even though it was a very cold day.The kids loved the rocks and of course the falls itself. And they enjoyed the standing hollow tree that they could climb in.They did not get to experience the Moonbow... but stated they would be back! The heated restrooms were also a hit on this cold , windy day.Some Kentucky resident family members also attended and we noted that the water level was pretty high. We also went to Dupont Lodge and enjoyed the warmth of the roaring fireplaceAlways an exciting, fun, natural and free place to come (except for the Gift Shop!).

The falls are always nice! The best part is up too where you can walk onto the flat rock and explore!My first impression I thought it would be cleaner, but I seem a fridge at the bottom of the falls that must have floated down there. I guess you can't keep people from dumping, but it's nice over all. Would recommend a soft serve ice cream! They make them huge!

We were traveling home and decided to make a detour and visit , we were not disappointed .. beautiful waterfalls, awesome hike down to the water and climbing on the huge boulders was a lot of fun! beautiful area , we loved it !

My husband & I spent 3 days & 2 nights at the Cumberland Falls State Park in October. The hike to the Falls from the lodge was charming and the foilage was gorgeous. The Falls are very nice and I was able to take some nice photographs that included rainbows. We were not their at an opportune time for moonbows but we had been here before and were lucky enough to see one. The Lodge and Dining Room need some work. Our room was quaint, but the bed was not very comfortable. It felt like it had out lived it's time. The room was quiet & private and that was appreciated. We ate dinner and breakfast at the Lodge. The food was not very tasty, very little seasoning and somewhat overpriced for oatmeal for breakfast.We have been here many times over the past 30-40 years, but I would say things are "slipping" a bit.

I have been coming down here for a dozen or so years. Little has changed but the I was surprised by the number of tourist there this year. It was a beautiful Sunday, probably at peak color in the fall though. We have stayed overnight here before, there is a lot to do. Hiking, Horseback riding. Most times we just make a short trip to grab some photos and take a little break on our 10 hour ride home. For best photos come in the morning to midday. In the afternoon the sun will be right in your eyes and makes it hard to get a good photo.
