adventures with western waters

This was by far the best whitewater experience I have had. Our guides were knowledgeable, fun, and adventurous. They provided us with the ability to push our limits if we wanted to. I would recommend taking this company for a whitewater rafting trip to anyone looking for a great time in Missoula.

We booked this trip as a side trip from our visit in Coeur d'Alene. We had such a great time with how beautiful the scenery is down the river and our guide Jared was great. He know alot about the river and all the really great fishing spots. We caught a ton of trout and we really had a great time. I would book this trip over and over again any time I am in the area....great for families!

We just completed our 2nd trip in late July and we already know its going to be a yearly thing. In fact, hopefully we'll do the trip again in October. Jared was our guide. We chose a fishing trip along with the float/whitewater. Jared brought all the equipment. He is a excellent fishing instructor and so improved our casts throughout the day and did we catch big fish!!! Jared knew where to find them! Absolutely a wonderful day. We can't wait to do it again.

My 14-year-old son and I had a wonderful day on the river with Jared in late June. It was chilly, and Jared had all the equipment we needed, right down to the wet suits (thank goodness). The snow melt made the bigger rivers too challenging for us to learn to fish, so Jared took us down a smaller, but longer river where he patiently taught us to cast. It was beautiful - green and misty, with layers of pines and fog and river, and no one around and just the sound of the water running quickly downstream to keep us company. Neither of us had any experience casting, and Jared was a patient and fun teacher. My son was a natural; I caught a few bushes. But it was so relaxing. Before we knew it, the day was over - and we had to go back to Missoula. We would go back in a heartbeat to have Jared guide us along Montana's amazing waterways. Thank you for a memorable day!

Beautiful scenery, fun rapids, and an excellent guide made for a great time! This is a great half day trip and at $57, it's a bargain! Highly recommended!

Our family's first white water rafting trip together was made so very special by this group. Austin was a fantastic guide who truly brought the river to life. He coached us, supported us and entertained us during our all day adventure. The lunch was perfect and the scenery unmatchable. We wanted to do it again the next day. Our 10 year old named the review...don't let the initial gathering location put you off even though it was 2 hours from Coeur dAlene it was soooo worth it

Took our kids (ages 20-27) and we all had a great time. There was enough excitement for the young adults, but not overly scary for the parents! The guide Austin was wonderful! He was knowledgeable and so much fun. There were people added to our group at the last minute and he turned a possible negative in to a positive. He suggested a 2 person inflatable kayak as being a lot of fun--so my daughter and son-in-law decided to try it. They had a blast! They switched spots with my 2 sons part way through at a calm spot, and my sons loved it too! So they all got to try something new and were thrilled. Austin is a great guide and definitely made our experience the best!

Took my children (19 thru 8) and we all had a blast. The guide was very helpful, even taking the time to explain the scenery to my blind son as we went through the gorge. He gave us a fabulous trip, managed our boat well and coached us well as we helped row. The rapids through the gorge were very fun and exciting. The lunch was very good and the day went too fast.That is my only complaint, the second half of the trip was little more than a leisurely float and we were all looking forward to more rapids like the first half.Will definitely use Western Waters again.

I would like to take a moment to thank the great folks at the Western Waters Company for a wonderful trip down the gorge. It was a birthday surprise for my husband's 64th . He has been a guide on many Oregon waters , and always doing the majority of the work , so this was nice for him to just be able to relax. We stopped for a very delicious lunch , and simply put , We had a fabulous time ! Thanks so much for all of the wo9rk you put into your company to provide a safe and enjoyable time for the public.

A coworker and I decided last minute to try white water rafting and just signed up. We didn't know who we were getting. They worked it out with out time frame, basically us being a little late. After meeting Austin and Jerrod I knew we would have a great time. They were fun, intelligent and very professional. Austin guided us down the river which was beautiful. The rapids were fun and a little scary, but Austin kept us safe and everyone had the time of our lives. If I had to do it again, we would definitely not go with anyone else. You can't go wrong with this group of guys.

Went rafting mid-July with myself and four children between the ages of 8 and 14. It was just us and the guide in the boat and we all had so much fun. We had previously rafted in Leavenworth WA and the rapids were too boring for my son but not this time! There were plenty of exciting rapids. The flow of the water was fast, the water was deep and clear, and the scenery was amazing. Our guide really made it awesome as well. He chatted with me and told the kids stories about the area. He stopped us at Fish Creek so we could swim in the freezing cold water. Overall the experience with Western Waters seemed very authentic and you felt like your friend was taking you out rather than a big, commercial rafting company.

We had a big group of swimmers in Missoula for a swim meet. They pleasantly worked with our time schedule to make sure the trip would work and it was affordable for the kids. The guides Todd, Austin, and Alisa (hope I spelled that correctly!) did an amazing job with all the kids. It was fun and exciting. A trip the kids will never forget and the best part of their weekend!! The wet suits saved all the kids who forgot proper clothes too!

Had a blast with Western Waters half day rafting trip. The scenery of the Alberton Gorge is absolutely breathtaking and the rapids were super fun (even in low water season of late August). Jared was awesome and super accommodating. A lot of outfits would have canceled, but Jared took us out even though it was just me and my boyfriend. We enjoyed chatting with him as he had a lot of interesting facts about the wildlife, history, and nature of Montana to share. We saw a lot of wildlife whilerafting- deer, bald eagles, osprey, and red breasted merganser.The equipment is in pristine condition and we felt safe at all times. We went at 9am and it was perfect weather. River water was warm and when we got wet we dried quickly in the sun. We were nevercold. Glad we didn't go in the afternoon as we heard it can be windy.Highly recommend Western Waters. It was an awesome time!

We had a wonderful family adventure day rafting with Jared and Todd on the river. Todd made sure we were safe, comfortable and well informed about all of the rapids. Our 12 and 14 year old boys thought this was an exciting and fun way to spend our Sunday. We would definitely recommend this to other families- a terrific trip!!

We were very fortunate to have Jared, the owner, as our guide. The trip whole day was a blast. If we were to rate the trip 1-10 it was an 11. Can't wait to return. Well worth the money. We met up with other folks who had floats with two other outfitters and they did not have good experiences.
