Your tour guide, who has extensive knowledge of the areas history, makes sure not to leave anything out as you follow her around the historic town. You will more than likely leave with unexplainable pictures/events that happened while on the tour. Its great fun for those of you who believe in the paranormal! I would highly reccomend it.
A wonderful tour filled with historical knowledge, fun and yes some creepy moments. Also available as a private tour which makes the creepy that much more.
Follow your tour guide (dressed in period costume) around the streets of Charles Town and learn of the past that could make any spirit restless. This quaint town has history to spare, just the history related to the John Brown raid on Harpers Ferry would be enough to raise the hair on the back of your neck, but the tour doesn't just focus on the 'easy' ghosts. This is a well researched history tour with a focus on the macabre and is well worth the price of admission.
This was the first ghost tour I had ever been on so I didn't know exactly what to exact. Well I was blown away by this tour. It was amazing! Ann knows her info! I loved her clothing choice (that dress was awesome). Aside from it being a ghost tour I learned so many new things that I never knew about charles town and I have lived 15 minutes from there my entire life. I would recommend to anyone who wants a fun, interesting and information gaining experience! Can't wait to go on another tour with Ann!
I've attended the Charles Town Ghost Tours for three years, and I've had a great time on every tour. The stories are spine-tingling, the graveyards are eerie, the tour guide is excellent, and you never know which ghost will choose to make an appearance.
i went on this tour with a few friends that had already been on the tour, i heard how good and fun it was so i had to try it. it was one of the best experiences of my life. Ann, our tour guide, was very informative and fun. we got amazing pictures of faces, orbs, mists ect. i highly recommend this! spooky old time
I went on this tour twice and had a blast both times. Ann is an exciting narrator and shares a ton of interesting stories of people from the past. I took lots of photos and even saw a few things in the pictures that I couldn't explain! I highly recommend taking this tour. Bring your camera!
So much fun We had a great time on the tour. Our guide had alot of knowledge and history about the many places we visited. One thing I learned and got to see with ny own eye
This was a great walking tour -- with alot of really interesting facts about the town! Tons of History!!
I was fortunate to be visiting Harpers Ferry when near by Charles Town was having its Heritage Fair. One of the events was a walking tour of various sites in town that are haunted. The tour guide, Ann Fern, was a very capable guide of the supernatural. She led our group down sidewalks and across streets to several of the town sites where sounds, smells and sightings of slaves, soldiers and ordinary citizens of Charles Town still linger. During the tour one of the departed made us aware of his presence. The lights and warning bells at a town railroad crossing flashed and sounded briefly signaling that he was with us that night. If you avoid cemeteries in the daylight, you will be very leery of walking through them at night. This tour visited two cemeteries, one a public cemetery, Edge Hill, and the other the cemetery of Zion Episcopal Church. Perhaps the most disquieting stop was the burial spot for Black slaves and servants of the community. No stones mark their resting place. Yet the town erected a massive water tower on the site that disturbed those buried there. How do we know? Take the tour and see for yourself. The tour which lasted almost two hours was conducted at night with tour members encouraged to bring their own flash lights. Mrs. Fern's husband served as a cross walk guard so the group could safely cross streets. There was a large group of children with their parents on this evening. I wouldn't say the tour was frightening. It is more of each individual's imagination making events and locations scary. The cost was nominal and well worth the money. I strongly suggest this ghost tour in conjunction with the one at Harpers Ferry.
