This a great place to take your family. We had four generations at the park. We all love it. It is best that you go in the morning during the warm months.
We attended a Halloween event here and it was fun for the family. But for what you have to pay for everything, I dont think it is worth it. Went once, like it, but probably wont return.
Its amazing how much information is in a couple of these reviews. You can read through them and see which ones the owners wrote. Who, besides the owner or someone that works there, knows the family has had these pets for years and decided to open it up to the public, the camel makes all 3 feeding stops in record time, and the antics of the animals when they come up to the bus? You would have to go there quite a lot to have that kind of insight. Oh, and by the way they have a Facebook page so you can keep up with their events. Nice advertising, lol. What a joke! I am going next weekend and will post a real review.
This is definitely different here in the south but the kids love it. A few advises for new comers, it's to a all for the ride, not enough animals to feed and is pricey.
This is kinda like a petting zoo for huge animals. Admission also earns you a bucket of feed which these gentle animals will follow you anywhere. Its extra fun for kids, even teens. They have refreshments for purchase and I believe open pretty much all the time. It's better in the cooler months, like all animals, they are a little friskier. The staff is knowledgeable. This family have had animals like this for years but finally built it up and opened it to the public. Its good for families, school outings, or even couple looking for a unique date.
What a wonderful place to go. The best time to go is early when all the animals are super hungry. Buy a bucket of feed for $20.00 and enjoy feeding all the animals, believe me they will come find you on the bus if you show them your cup. The staff is very friendly and truly cares about the animals in the gift shop and outside. Plan to stay the day because they have a playground and the parakeet pavilion is out back. They also have a facebook page so you can keep up with all the activities and new animals. The last time my family went we were introduced to about 10 new baby deer and several new calves. Wonderful Place to be.
I was impressed with the cleanliness of the facilities and the affection the staff has for the animals. The ride is scheduled hourly. If you arrive early, enjoy the petting zoo and the birds, snakes and gerbils in the store. The store is attached to a very large room used for parties. Go in there to see some excellent examples of taxidermy. The ride is a HOOT! The bus has NO windows or doors so the animals come up to the windows to be fed. Some stick their heads in the windows and some even attempt to enter the bus! You will laugh until your sides ache at their antics. Bruiser, the camel, makes it to all three feeding stops in record time. The ostriches run along side the bus with their heads peeking and pecking in the windows. Hold on to your feeding cups. Some of these animal bandits are fond of the snatch and grab! Don't leave anything unattended on the seat, either. If you like animals, give this attraction a try!
Had a great time. Loved getting to feed all the animals on the safari tour. The kids were so cute petting the animals in the petting area. The only thing I wished were if they announced the events they are having a little better.
I went with my little granddaughter's school on field trip. I was very entertained and the kids were thrilled. They really work hard to make the trip fun and exciting. Well worth it.
Gone Wild Safari, I was pleasantly surprised by this attraction. For around $12/person + the cost of feed $9 for children you can ride a converted school bus and feed exotic animals. Camels, water buffalo, llama, ostrich, kangaroos, several types of deer and antelope. It's really fun to feed and pet the different animals. There is a petting zoo where you can get up close and personal with some of the animals. Well priced for what you get, friendly knowledgeable staff rich with southern charm. A must do!!!
this place is wonderful for solo or family trips. it's just great.. they have several attractions to choose from and the staff are very friendly. We always feel very welcomed.
Gone wild safari has a variety of animals for the children to pet and feed. The food for the animals is twenty dollars for a five gallon bucket. Yes, one child will use all of the food in a trip. The experience is mostly being driven through the safari on a tractor being pulled by a trailer.
This place has alot of potential. It's great that CENLA has something like this for families. Only problem is the price. Most families cant afford to go and the membership is sky high! It was nice to see the animals from the bus and cool to be able to see a giraffe up close.
I bring my son her often. It's a little pricy but deffinantly worth the money. The employees are very nice and you can tell that they really enjoy their jobs.
My boyfriend and I came here and we had such a wonderful time. The tour guide was great. She was very informing and knowledgable. You could also tell how caring she was toward all the animals and how much she loves what she does. The animals were beautiful and well kept. When we walked into the gift shop we were greeted by a beautiful parrot. Everyone that comes to Alexandria needs to come here!
