5 rivers delta resource center

We love to visit this place when we vacation in Mobile. It's right on the causeway near Spanish Fort, so it's easy to get to from either side of the bay. The kids love to look at the stuffed and live animals on display. Very good info on AL and Lower AL in regards to wildlife. This place doesn't seem to be very well staffed, but every time we've been, it's been fine to walk our way through the buildings. One building has a kid zone that has snakes, amphibians, and arachnids on display (live and dead), as well as a coloring area. A very nice-sized theater continually shows a movie about the delta and surrounding area. Outside, there are several easy walking paths as well as a boat dock. Lot's of birds and other wildlife to look at. Love the gift shop too!

In my opinion, you haven't been to Mobile if you haven't visited this Center. They have done an excellent job of capturing the variety of the Delta's biological resources, and the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. They clearly love their work.The displays are interesting and engaging and there are trails to explore. I have also launched my kayak here and gotten in a very good paddle.

which were to just see what the area had to offer. I would give it a higher rating if our purposes were different, say we brought a boat up and were looking for specific knowledge on the boat docks. I'm sure this would be the place to come. But for our purposes, which were mainly to sight see and have fun without any added expense/baggage, this place, although friendly, was not entirely helpful. We'll come back if we have different reasons for being in the area. We also weren't there at the right time for the animal presentation - I think the rating might be higher if we were! (It sounded pretty cool.)

The static displays of animals was more than I expected. Worth a stop if passing through or in the area and interested in the Mobile-Tensaw Delta.

Great place to visit with family. Have several buildings containing movie theater showing films about the Delta. Lot's of history as well as museum. can take Delta tours also. Highly Recommenced.

I did the wildlife tour and 5RDS, and I was very pleased with my experience. First of all, the staff is very knowledgeable about the area, so they give you tons of information on the tour. I really learned a lot about the plants and animals of the area as well as some history as well. I am planning to return to Spanish Fort in November, and I plan to do the Port of Mobile Tour. I am really looking forward to it.

My husband and I visited here while waiting for a boat tour. We loved this place. It has many stuffed as well as some live animals on display. There is a lot to see here, I wish were able to spend more time there. The best part for me was when one of the employees let me pet a live opossum, she was a very sweet animal. I would recommend this place to anyone with children or anyone wanting to learn more about the wildlife in and around the area.

An absolute must for both tourists and locals. Captain Mike and our tour guide, Chris made out Delta Safaris trip the most memorable vacation day. Take part in the Exhibit halls and don’t miss the the Cypress Gift Shop featuring local artists at reasonable price. Enjoy!

This is a relaxing view of nature in Mobile Delta. There are piers to walk & view the water. The exhibition is good. They could improve it by adding name tags for the animals so people not familiar would know what they are seeing. Over all a nice place to take the family free of charge. They also have a nice gift shop.

It was an awesome experience!! If you've done the tour before you are missing out! Thank you Geoff & Brittany you are a great guide & we truly enjoyed the experience! When family comes to town we will be back! If you live here or are visiting this is a must do on your list!! It was great!! I was able to get great photos of "Popeyes", Moorhen & he babies, the beautiful American Lotus" flowers & much more! It was great!!!

The grounds are kept very nice. The employees are knowledgeable and polite. They opened the theater for myself and 2 friends to watch a very interesting movie on the Alabama delta. Great wildlife presentation. Lots of live animals and great information on them. The gift shop is a must see.

An awesome place to visit and learn about nature and the delta. Everyone in our party from 7 to 57 gave it a 5 star rating. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The facilities are great: educational, clean, and cool. A must see if you are in the area.

I was impressed with the layout and education building/visitor center. The staff was very informative. The building is newer and there is a deck area on the rear which gives a nice feel for Mother Nature

Nice atmosphere and well kept buildings and grounds. A nice place to spend some time. Great place to plan an event, also.

We went to center after birthday party and the kids like seeing all the wildlife. Doing some of the touching part and seeing some of the wild sankes.
