My husband and I rented a double kayak. Chris was very helpful to help us decide on the best one for our skill and comfort level. The river route was very scenic and even though it was a hot July day, there was a constant breeze that kept us very comfortable. A few interesting rapids kept the trip fun and the current helped move us along. We saw several Blue Heron, beautiful trees and flora as well as lots of Spanish Moss. No trouble bugs or mosquitos. A very scenic, quiet river cruise.We did not stop since this was our first time down,so we made the trip in about 3 hours.The double kayak was comfortable and easy to maneuver.

Two of us rented kayaks and took the trip down the river. It was such a great time and we met fun groups along the way. There are some rapids and you WILL get wet. Don't bring anything that you can't afford to lose. No alligators and we didn't see any snakes. Phew. You can bring coolers (no styrofoam) and drinks are ok (just no glass). We brought a picnic and there are plenty of rock islands to stop at and take a swim. The trip is 7 miles and takes about 3 hours at a very leisurely paddle. This is a very organized company and they do their job well. You take a school bus up to the dam and end at your car. I would highly recommend this trip for a "Real Alabama" adventure
