Only if you are interested in High Priced Shopping! We choose the Tanger Malls instead! Not a Person on the Ferris Wheel so we choose not to even try.
A lot of choices. Shopping, ice cream, coffee, restaurants. Walked by the marina. Wasn't busy at all on a Monday night.
Took in a couple of movies during our beach stay. Got a little exercise window shopping, and stopped and had a cup of coffee.
We attended the Taste of the Gulf last summer and it was AMAZING! The chefs were friendly, personable and the food was out of this world! As a result, we visited two new restaurants and have plans to visit more this summer.. (COBALT?) (: This area is so worth spending an evening exploring!
This place is very big! Luckily there is plenty of parking and the flow is good so you're not feeling trapped in a mall. Selection of stores for men, women, kids and gifts/souvenirs.When we visited it was 2pm on a Thursday in February. Not much happening at that time. Would love a nice coffee shop here (if there's already one here we missed it) but understand the target audience isn't that crowd!Location is easy to find. Nice walking paths and fun to watch the boats.
Still cool this time of year but still very nice. Easy to park and nice not to have crowds. Plenty of choices for meals and shopping. We like to go in off season.
There are several gift shops and restaurants here. Several times of the year, they do a light show with music and other special events.
Great shopping and restaurants. Also a great place the watch boats coming in and out. Several great restaurants. We tried Complete Angler and really enjoyed it. The shopping selection is not huge, but just enough to find something for everyone. I really enjoyed the Tervis store. The place was loaded with SEC schools, but the also had my ULM Warhawks!!! You don't see that very often. This is a great place to hang out in the evenings.
My wife and I visited the Wharf one evening. There is a large selection of restaurants and stores. There is also a selection of things to do. Easy parking and easy to get to. If in the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area a must visit.
We stopped here one evening for a nice walk and some shopping. There were many stores, some nice furniture stores we enjoyed walking through.
Watch the sunset (or rise) and have a great time, you will not be disappointed The appetizers are to die for and the drinks prepared to perfection. Always our come back to place
We go to Orange Beach / Gulf Shores a couple of times a year & try to go to The Wharf at least once a year - which always seems to be around Christmas. It's a great concept & I think it will get better as they add more things to do.First, the shopping, there are several stores along the main entrance. There is one jewelry/accessories shop that we just LOVE - it's on the West side - I can't remember the name but her prices are reasonable & she has unique pieces. Another great place (on the same side) is The Sugar Shack - they have Funnel Cake Fries!!! A must!!!! Also, The Southern Grind Coffee House has beautiful beach inspired gifts & décor & really great Gelato. Plus, the place smells amazing! Now the downside - on the opposite side of the street there is a shoe place, Columbia, & Guy Harvey store - these are all interconnected from the inside of each store - which I assume to mean that they are owned by the same person. The customer service & attitude of the associates is appalling! I won't go into details but I will say that I will never cross their threshold again. This year The Wharf offered Ice Skating under a covered tent. But there was nowhere for the adults to sit & watch (we have had this type of set up in my home town & they had an area of chairs & tables so parents could relax & keep an eye on their kids) - we did not do it because of the lack of seating & also the ice was so gauged & had not been maintained that you couldn't really skate on it without tripping. We did do the Ferris Wheel this year. It's $4 per person for 4 consecutive loops. It's a beautiful view - I hope to do it again at night. There was a Spectra Light Laser Show that we had seen the year previous that was very cool - also a must if you are there. They have recently added a Ropes Course (kind of like the one at LuLu's) but bigger & mini golf. The pricing was a little steep - about $16 per person - we didn't get to try it out because it started raining. There is also a movie theatre, restaurants, condos, marina, amphitheater, etc
You can spend the day browsing the shops and get a quick bite to eat. It's decorated for Christmas and they have carriage rides available too. So many interesting shops to peruse.
We were here a few years ago when The Wharf was first opening and were disappointed that it hasn't seemed to change much. There is a huge Farris Wheel now instead of a zip line and some of the store fronts on the upper level now seem to be occupied. Some upscale stores, two restaurants and Toby Keith's Bar is about it. The Amphitheater is located there, also a water park.
Nothing spectacular just average shops. We rode the Ferris wheel with all the kids at night and seen the light show on the trees. Still nothing more than average.
