Fairly reasonable price for a weekday, nice greens, friendly staff. We should go back and play the other course there just for comparison.
The course was in great shape. The greens were a little fast, but could hold an approach shot - when I was able to hit the green. Not crowded in November and the weather was near perfect for golf - mid 70s and sunny.
Played Cotton Creek with friends yesterday - and although the course was in very good condition and very pretty to play -- it's administration was disappointing for the money. We were advised at check-in and by the Marshall that the pin position was number 3. The scorecard had small maps of each hole and a 5 point pin position display. However, the actual pin position was very random compared to the card -- It was wrong at least 50% of the time. The course has a nice layout and beautiful views with a nice setting of the club house on the 18th green -- However, although the weather was beautiful -- and there was a nice porch surrounding the Club House -- there was no way you could sit on the porch, watch 18th hole play or order any food. What a waste The food we did order inside was mediocre
Our 11yr old played in a Dixie PGA tournament here and the course, the pro shop and the Resteraunt are fantastic! The tournament was early in the morning and the grounds grew were out drying the dew off the course!
Excellent golf courses in top shape - Cotton Creek and Cypress. All the staff was very friendly and helpful, but the bar and table service at the clubhouse was very slow and way understaffed for the amount of folks needing to be served. Plan ahead or bring a sandwich with you.
Very nice challenging Arnold Palmer course, unfortunately it was cold the morning we played so we couldn't enjoy it as much as we could have if we weren't so bundled up. Be prepared to lose a lot of balls in the water.
We played both courses here last week and these are the favorites of the 5 places we played in the area (Kiva Dunes; Peninsula; Gulf Shores; Lost Key). Challenging, but open enough to hit driver and even find a few you hit off line. If you're going to Gulf Shores to play, make sure you stop here!
My husband and his brothers played there and really enjoyed their afternoon. The course was challenging and in good shape despite it being wet from two days of continuous rain. Cart path only was the rule, so they took over 5 hours to finish. They had a discount but thought that the regular prices were not out of line with the quality of the course. The Arnold Palmer course is well laid out and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Greens are fast and true and the fairways are in perfect condition. Sitting back in a residental community it has a country club feel to it, but is open to the public.
This course is one of my favorite courses however its to expensive to play very often. The most true greens in the area. If you can read greens & follow it with a good putt you will score well. Never gets backed up. I just wish they could reduce prices to locals now that I have moved in the area. Most local budgets can stand $50.00 or less to play 2 to 4 times a month. But if your in town for golfing vacation you must play.
This course never disappoints. Whether I'm playing great or not, this course is always fun and the staff are always overflowing with hospitality. That being said, this course is more challenging than it's twin, Cypress Bend. It messes with your mind because at one point you think you're playing links golf, and the next minute you can find yourself in the middle of some trees. There is a lot of sand and water, but if you play smart, you won't have to worry about most of it. The golf shop is well appointed with equipment, and usually during the summer the staff will send someone around with cold towels to cool you off. I would highly recommend this course to golf nuts everywhere.
We played Cotton Creek and found it very enjoyable. The course is beautiful and is in great condition. The staff is friendly and helpful. The course is challenging - there are a few holes that always get me! But, overall it is a great place to play.
This is our third winter in GS an we always play both Craft Farm courses. We enjoy them both and they are always in great shape. Nice pro shop and restaurant, friendly staff. Depending on how long you will be here, check into their 6-packs. You can use 2 per day and are good until April 1st. We buy our in late fall but I think they may still be available and it will save you some - obviously more, the earlier you buy. Playable for senior women. This course may be a little easier than Cypress Bend - less water to cross for short shooters. Bathrooms on course and beverage cart.
Arnold Palmer designed course. That should say enough. The course has always been in good shape when I played it and the greens are among the best along the coast. Up for a challenge?? Play it from the tips!!
Craft farms is a great 36 hole golf club. The course is always in the same condition: Great! Greens look like carpet and roll very true. We play every year when we visit.
