Brimfield used to be THE place to go to buy antiques in New England. Since they split it up it's become a disorganized mess, you now need a spreadsheet to figure out where to go and when. The goods are primarily low end although there are certainly numerous exceptions. If you don't get to each market at the very beginning most of the better deals are gone. If you're really dedicated, obsessed and have tons of energy then I guess it's worth it. Otherwise there are many better places to find antiques that are much less insane.

It is hard to fathom all the deals and antique and collectables that are at this area during there show. Went for the week in Sept 2014 and did not see it all. They say the spring show is even better ! Plan to be on hand when it opens on Tuesday as close to 12 - 14 fields open that day. the rest open during the week with vengeance ! Plan to arrive early - Sunrise and shop until about 6:00 pm . And best of all , enjoy !!

My daughter & I spent 6 days treasure hunting at the Brimfield Antique Market. As crazy as it sounds, we were on the fields at 6am to get the best deals. We walked 6-8 miles each day & had so much fun! There is something for everyone...furniture, jewelry, vintage clothing, rugs, paintings, etc. The dealers are friendly & helpful. Great food, but our favorite was the Pilgrim Sandwich--fresh & healthy. Shipping available for large items. We are from Atlanta & have been going to Brimfield since 1991. We are not dealers--just collectors to decorate our homes. Can't wait to go back next year!

Beware of sellers who are trying to sell overpriced re purposed junk. Overall if you like flea markets then this is the place for your. Thousands of vendors outdoors that sell mostly junk but if your willing to sift through the discards your apt to find something you like. Parking fills up but is only $5.00 so come early.

So, eight girlfriends get on a plane to Boston, rent two minivans and head to Brimfield. After 1 1/2 days of shopping, our minivans are completely full. Bargains galore! We live in Texas so we have Round Top Antique Fair to compare with Brimfield, and we found lots more good deals at Brimfield. But Round Top is a lot bigger and there is a lot more variety. After a day and a half at Brimfield, we felt like we had seen it all. It was fun, we had a blast, but we were really expecting something bigger.

This "Show" is huge. It has something for everyone. Thousands of vendors from all over USA set up shop with a wide variety of goods. There are plenty of eateries as well. People come from all over the world to "do Brimfield". Three weeks a year [in May, July, and September], the little rural town of Brimfield is transformed into the largest antique market in the world. It's fun and unique. Some fees are charged [parking and some vendor "fields"], but much of it is free to browse.

Miles of STUFF! We walked through gravel for 4 hours and didn't get through half. You have to love antiques or love looking through STUFF. I myself prefer flea markets, where all junk is created equal, but we had fun. This event only occurs a few weekends a year, so plan ahead.

I frequently visit flea markets. Love antiques and collectible items. When I found out about Brimfield I had to make the trip. By far the best flea market I have ever been to. Thousands of vendors selling everything you could imagine. Got there early and started shopping at 8 am and left around 5 pm and didn't finish it. Had to go back the next day to finish the rest of the fields. Definitely a bit overwhelming due to it's size but if you plan it right you can do it all in two days. Came home with a lot of great stuff at good prices. Some vendors were easier to negotiate with than others. I would definitely recommend Brimfield to anyone who loves a good flea market or likes antiques. So much fun and can't wait to go back in September. Will be a yearly trip I make

This was our first visit and we were somewhat apprehensive regarding traffic jams, parking, crowds, etc. Guess we lucked out. We went on Thursday to the July show arriving about 7:45 a.m. No significant traffic, not many people, and plenty of parking. As we went along during the day we could hear many of the vendors talking about how attendance had been lacking. We can say it was definitely not crowded at all in the morning, but attendance did grow significantly in the afternoon.Parking fees ranged from $5.00 to $10.00. We paid $8.00 at Mays Field which is located about 1/3 of the way from one end of the show. Mays parking is across the street from Mays field, and parking starts right at route 20. We noted that many other fields parking was behind the field, so the the walk can be substantial unless you plan to start in that field. There were plenty of food stands and prices were comparable to what you might expect at a fairground or other similar attraction. A local bank has a small vending area next to Mays parking and charged just $1.00 for water or soda. We also saw $1.00 water as well as food specials elsewhere, so keep your eyes open for food and drink bargains. Some people call this show an antique show, others call it a big flea market. We would call it both and add a yard sale and a new item dollar store. Prices ran the gamut from very expensive (thousands) to dollar tables. Some prices were truly bargains, while others were "you gotta be kidding." Some vendors were quick to offer deals and bundles. Others were not so negotiable. Because of the wild variations in pricing, its obviously good to know the value of the items you are interested in.While many vendors were active and engaged their customers, especially in the morning, other vendors seemed to be lethargic and possibly had "given up" on the show. We visited the Mays field last (the early morning $5.00 admission had disappeared in the afternoon). There were frequent signs asking vendors not to pack up before 4:00. It was 3:00 when we arrived and a great number of vendors were already packing up. some has already packed up and gone.Of course we couldn't see every thing, and by 3:30 our feet were dragging. But we will visit again in the future as there truly is something here for everyone.

As usual, enjoyed the show though we now understand that July is slow compared to May and Sept and as well you run the risk of the gawd-awful heat but this year was not terrible. We have been at all times and have our favorite dealers though we find some now retired. All port-o-lets now seem to have the running water for hand washing which improves the ordeal of using such a facility for two days running, in our case! Our one complaint as parking prices rose a lot. What was $7-8 now $10 May 2013 to July 2014. Seems a high increase. Prices good, dealers so nice and informative as usual. If you've never been - consider it...if you've been - consider trying it again! We were told it was the slowest July ever from people long in the business (44 years, for example!) but we'd go back. Dealers seem to consistently say that they bring their "uniques" in July to attract the buyers but others also say they don't "bring their normal" so go at some peril but know you'll have fun!

My cousin and I came to the show without any particular reason or quest. It was a great day to explore, price things, and see something we hadn't seen before. There are fields, and fields of vendors selling everything, and anything. There are a couple of fields which charge an admission, but we didn't need to go there, because there was plenty of free areas..What I can't understand is why some of the vendors refused to budge a nickel, while others offered 50% discount. Oh well, its like I've always said, "An antique is only worth what someone is willing to pay". We enjoyed the day, and an ice cream. We may return next year.

This was my second trip to this show in a year. I do not recommend attending this show. At least 50% was flea market items not antiques and dealers were thick and bought quite a bit. Probably will never return to this event.

There is something for everyone at this amazing, enormous flea market. Antiques, vintage treasures, gardening accessories, clothing, crystal, industrial inspired lighting and furnishings, hand made donuts. Yes, donuts that melt in your mouth. Wonderful assortment of every type food to keep you energized for the miles of walking. We have gone every year, several times for decades. Not to be missed! You are in for a fun experience.

All the fields t Brimfield have something different, but Shelton's is my go to place for the Shabby Chic stuff. Lots of decor for both home and garden, but also fun industrial furniture and cool guy stuff to keep the men occupied as well. It has a great mix of vendors, and there's always a couple good food vendors at the front.Parking is really easy - there is a field in the back that is accessible from the road just before it.Rates are average.

The Brimfield Fair in May (2014) was packed full of tables, tents and items, as usual. I hadn't been in a while, and found the item prices to be quite a bit higher than I remembered.Saturday was a nice day, weather-wise, and I brought my Honey with me, which made it more interesting looking at vintage items (since he swears he's got a bunch of them in storage somewhere, and we were able to reminisce over other familiar items). When we first arrived, we found a cool-looking, bronze Dragon statue that was being sold for about $500. That was steep! It looked like a one-of-a-kind thing...but, then, a little while later we saw a bunch of them in several different finishes in another location, selling for $350 each. Big difference. Later, we found yet another location where they were trying to get $600 for the same thing. It's really (and nearly literally at times) a crap shoot. To get the most out of this kind of shopping, in my opinion, you really need to be okay with bargaining/haggling, as well as having a clear idea of the value of things.Besides my perception of the higher prices, the other new thing for me was seeing 'bathroom attendants' at some of the porta-potty stations. These folks were looking for monetary tips for telling you which stall to use (and maybe for keeping them a bit cleaner than unattended ones), which was...um...different.Going to the Brimfield Fair can be a fun thing to do for fans of vintage items and flea markets, and it takes many hours to get through it all. I will also say that I have a lot of respect for the people who haul all of their items stuff back and forth to this type of show. (Maybe we should applaud them if they can get close to the money they're asking for these things.)
