This was our first time here, we went with an 7 yr old and an 8 yr old. They were in heaven! The store is big with plenty of space to move around and not bump into each other every 5 seconds. I like the fact that there were sales in the store, it allowed us to purchase more than expected. The girls loved the doll salon! I think it's a bit pricey for the styles, not sure if its really worth it but my daughter liked it. We had lunch with the dolls, the girls loved it. The girls loved the high chairs for the dolls to sit at the table with them. I do think its a bit expensive and they should really include drinks in the price. It would be nice to offer free dog/cat bowls for the AG animals as well. It was great to see that they offered gluten free items. We would definitely visit the store again.
Let me start off with saying I know I'm writing this rather late but have been super busy. We went to American girl for the day with my daughter and her best friend we live in CT so it's a decent drive but it's so worth it. We got their right when it opened and were immediately welcomed. The girls already mostly knew what they were getting but when we got in there their plans changed. They both where getting Isabelle and the store workers where very helpful and helped the girls get their dolls and pick out the other accessories they wanted for Isabelle. Then, we went upstairs to the doll solan it's so neat to see them do the dolls hair! It's roughly $20 a due and their are different choices depending on what type of hair the doll has my daughter got Caroline's hair done and her friend got Molly's hair done. The hair came out fantastic. The girls and I walked around the store more and they decided what else they wanted to buy. By that point it was about lunch time and we went to the bistro to be seated as I had made a reservation. It's so neat how the dolls can sit up at the table in the chairs! The girls loved that! The food was also very yummy their where great choices we all ate every bite of ours. They both also got fancy milkshakes that they loved! After lunch, we went to pick out the rest of what they were going to buy as they had already purchased Isabelle and many of her things that morning. They both picked out the rest of what they wanted and we went to pay! Thank you American Girl for such an awesome girls day out I can assure you we will be back soon
The American Girl Store in Natick is a fun treat for girls of all ages. It is not inexpensive, but is a wonderful special treat. They can help clean up a much-loved doll too. Get there early, especially if you want any doll salon services. The wait can be long, but the friendly staff really takes time with each child. Book a meal in the restaurant. The food is good, and all so very cute. There are special chairs for dolls, and dolls to borrow in case yours was left behind. The store is located at the massive Natick Mall, which is worth the trip as well.
My friend and I brought our daughters here for afternoon tea. The girls are 2 1/2 and they were very excited. Their dolls had special high chairs to sit in. Waitstaff was fun and energetic. We ordered tea service for girls, and a coke for us. Price is reasonable, girls loved the little sandwiches and deserts. They didn't make us feel weird about no ordering food for ourselves. ( we wanted to focus on the kids). The dolls and accessories are expensive, but good quality.
This location in Natick is the only one for many miles. Travellers come from New York, Conn., etc. to visit. If you haven't heard of "American Girl", drop in some time to look around. The young lady in my life, age 11, has been lucky enough to acquire about 5-6 dolls. They are not cheap (about $100), but they have a story and history. In addition, they have a restaurant on the premises & different events on a specific theme. Her mother says, "there isn't another toy/game that Bridget enjoys playing with as much as her American Girl dolls". She and her friends have "American Girl" play dates.
We visited with our 7yo daughter on a recent trip to Boston. It was our first visit to any AG store. We were warmly greeted and the attention was all on my daughter and her doll. She got her dolls hair done at the salon and they did a beautiful job. There was always someone nearby to answer any questions and to help her shop.
