Fun to canoe, kayak, jet ski and motorboat. Beautiful, lovely views. Large lake. Fun to observe on lake.
Beautiful lake - BUT.... they obviously don't want non-residents there. This year it's $50 to launch your boat and $40 just to go to the beach- that's crazy! Really frustrating - especially when the launch isn't that great....
This area was just breathtaking! We were lucky enough to be visiting a local with a boat. While riding around the lake we were treated to see the eagle's nest with two eaglets. One of the adult eagles flew off the nest and grabbed a fish with its talons! Just awesome!
Delicious pancakes and sausage in a charming setting. Tons of locals gather in this annual event. Bring your appetite.
My fiance & I totally enjoyed our first inboard racing event. There was plenty of parking and great views on Memorial Beach. The lake is larger than I expected with lots of gentle breezes. Plenty space for boaters and swimmers. I can see this is great place for family fun. Lots of amazing lake houses along the shores. A delightful easy drive through Douglas State Forest. Everyone seemed to respect and enjoy the lake. Nice to have a beautiful place not far from Boston or Rhode Island.
We visited Memorial Beach on Sat., 7/6, around 10:30 a.m.; life guards are on duty. Non-residents pay th$30.00 per car; gates open 7 a.m. & close at dusk-they have a boat ramp but fees are higher for that use. There is nothing like a gentle breeze on a hot, humid day to rid you of your crankiness! I have been going to this beach since I was a little child, and have many fond memories of this place! My husband & I enjoyed the day under the shade of the trees with a picnic lunch, and splashing around in the refreshingly cool and clean waters of Webster Lake-this is a scenic lake & you will spend your day admiring all of the different types of boats using the Lake! I especially enjoyed using our floats in the water. This park has a wonderful playground area for young children. Guests at the park were quiet and respectful of each other, & there was no loud music playing to distract or annoy you. We enjoyed our day so much, that we stayed until 4, went home, had supper and returned for an evening swim! I was disappointed by some of the newer rules being enforced: NO GRILLS of any type; you can't walk beyond the 'fenced' areas any longer, which means you can't walk to the tip of the small peninsula, and enjoy the beautiful, natural sandbar area or the wooded area on the other end of this small beach. Sand in the swimming areas is soft and easy on the feet once you wade past the first couple feet of shoreline. Rest rooms need to be updated & cleaned better (not a reflection of the toilets-they were kept clean) & picnic tables are a mess. Suggestions: make sure you have sandals; beach sand is gritty and tough on the feet; bring a tablecloth (dollar store plastic ones are perfect for this) & something to cover the benches, because you can get slivers. Concession stand is OK, but you pay for the convenience.
This is a nice Lake Beach area w/picnic tables, grilling, boating, & family fun. You can go for a spin in your boat, fish, or swim. Only wish they wouldn't charge as much & could be a little cleaner, mainly because of the geese.
Beautiful lake but the ammenities are subpar. A better bathroom/changing area would be a major improvement. In addition the tables are broken down and the whole beach just has a sad look to it.This lake is right off the highway and could be a real draw but at this point I would say avoid it unless you live in town.
The Memorial Beach waterfront is staffed during the summer and by waterfowl the rest of the year. The beach is delightful and there is an adjoining playground for children. It's a great spot.
$25 to get into the dirtiest, sand-free beach. The bathrooms are filthy. Okay playground and the water is nice, but out-of-towners shouldn't pay the astronomical entrance fee.
Fun things to do, the best people in town, and the birds including bald eagles here are so graceful. Truly a small piece of paradise!
Conveniently located in Webster, this was a nice day trip.
Webster Lake. I think it is one of the only things in Webster that the town officials can't screw up. Well, at least not entirely. They don't know how to control the goose population and the water sometimes becomes contaminated with e-coli, but then, I never went there to swim in the water.I always liked to go walking along the paths in the wooded areas around the water. For me they had a mystery to them; some native American magic left from the old days.. Like you were going to find something- I hoped for magical things, but you just know you'll end dealing with more mundane things like drug deals or couples making out... such is life in Webster...
