A great show for families with older children. Swings from humorous to sad and delivers a sincere holiday message. Not all folks holidays are completely full of joy, and this nutcracker might be a holiday gift.

Round house theatre is located at east-west hwy close to the Hilton garden & Residence Inn. Their plays are as good as any you will see in washington dc. Round house also operates it's own box office so you won't get hit with ticketmaster fees & their discount tickets for tuesday preformances

Whoever picks the plays doesn't have my approval. I am not interested in most of the titles. The small theater is lovely. You will have a good time.

An extensive variety of plays are presented during the year at affordable costs. The Roundhouse does a great job of making theater goers feel really welcomed at each performance

My boyfriend and I attended this theater, in April 2014, to see "Two Trains Running" by playwright August Wilson. I always wanted to see an August Wilson play and was glad we finally did so. The play was very entertaining (great acting) and we had really good seats (since the theater is not too big, any seat is a good seat. Additionally, we saw "A Trip To Bountiful", back in 2010, and this was also excellent and featured a predominately African-American cast. Coincidentally, the same play was on Broadway (starring Cicely Tyson, etc.), last year, with the same adaption. Since the production, at the Bethesda Round House Theater, was excellent, I felt as though I did not need to travel to New York City to see the same play. We purchased tickets, at the box office, the day of the performance. The box office offers certains discounts, if applicable, which is really good. There is ample parking at the public garage a block away and it's free on Saturdays and Sundays (prices vary on the weekdays and this garage has metered parking only). The Metro subway also has a stop within walking distance. There are are several restaurants close by for convenience.

Mostly good to acceptable seats, small enough to hear and see the action on the stage well. Really convenient location in Bethesda near Metro and big parking garage across the street. Performances are well done and reasonably priced. Some sell out early.

We've been to more than half a dozen productions here, most recently, a comedy--"Seminar." While the performances vary from absolutely outstanding (e.g., "Amadeus"), to far better-than-average for a smaller theater in the suburbs, visually, they always amaze. The sets are always wonderfully creative, as is the staging and costumes. No seat is very far away from the stage. You can opt for the less expensive balcony seats. There are special prices for students and bargains on certain days, often Tuesdays, where you can see a play for $10 or $15. There is parking steps away--either at the public parking lot across the street (caution--Bethesda is known for ticketing expired meters) and at a parking lot just past the main entrance of the theater. If there is an intermission, there are light refreshments sold in the lobby.

Taking advantage of a discount ticket from Goldstar, we went to see the play, The Lyons at Round House. The play was so uneven it was ridiculous. The first act was funny and the acting was mediocre. The second act had nothing new to offer to the play and was not even funny. And the final insult was that the parking garage under the theatre was totally unprepared to let any of the patrons who parked there out of the garage. We waited 30 minutes with our parking ticket and payment before we, along with others, were allowed to leave. So much for Suburban theatre going.

We live near by and while we have subscriptions to a few theaters in downtown DC, we enjoy the high level productions at this theater as well as the convenience to our home. Parking is convenient in a county lot and the metro is about two blocks away. Several dining options within walking distance.

This is an exceptional professional theatre in Bethesda, Maryland--a suburb of Washington, DC. They have a subscription series of 6 plays available for the 2013-14 season (including "Seminar") or one can purchase individual tickets. I just saw "The Beauty Queen of Leenane" by Martin McDonagh there, and it was an intense, wonderfully executed experience about the interactions among family members, ambition, and thwarted desires. McDonagh is a celebrated contemporary playwright, and this group of actors took this excellent work and brought it to life. Check out Round House at www.roundhousetheatre.org.
