It's very much worth a trip to here to get a shoo fly pie. The chocolate chip cookies were so so. There are a lot of choices for meat, etc. Not much else though I did get an interesting American Indian copper picture for $5.00!

This is a great market featuring Amish baked goods (none better), salads, veggies both cooked and fresh, a meat market, fresh soups with places to eat inside or get it to go. They also have reproduction furniture and cookbooks. There is a candy section featuring old-time candies as well as anything new you might like. They have a section devoted to all kinds of flours and ground grains as well as spices of every kind...even the hard to find! A place to spend some time shopping and snacking as you go or buy your complete meals to go.

This was a fun market with little duplication between the stands. There was a bakery, several stands with prepared food, a meat shop, a great deli, a bulk food store, and furniture - all under one room. It was like a small slice of Lancaster PA in the middle of Hagerstown.

Purchased a custom made farm table, which by the way was the lowest priced of the 4 Amish Markets that I visited, when I was unloading the table I noticed a small 1/8" ding on the edge that I probably could have repaired but I thought it should be brought to their attention. I e-mailed the market at 8pm on a Sunday evening, within 15 min I received a response, the market was open the next day due to the Christmas schedule and at 11am the Market manager arrived at my residence to address the problem. The solutions ranged from a quick touchup to having the edge refinished at the Lancaster shop, I chose the former and was told that the next time I visited the market there would be a gift certificate for me. I visited the market and redeemed my certificate for some wonderful food that is always served there.

We live within walking distance of this market and have shopped their many times. They have an excellent selection of high quality, fresh meats, salads, produce, bakery items, and deli foods. You get what you pay for as the quality is high but the prices are higher than what you would pay at a grocery store. The market also offers furniture, crafts, live plants and several times of year they have ox roasts, barbecues and other outdoor food items. It is worth a visit.

The place had a dirty feeling to it. I felt very crowded being pushed through the buffet and craft maze. Way, way over priced for bulk food, meat, and cheese choices. I will say they do have quite a selection though.I got a rack of ribs and they were good. My biggest problem was being pushed by the crowd behind us while waiting for the people in front of us to move. And not to be disrespectful, but watch out in the parking lot for the senior drivers.

Have browsed throughout the store on several occasions. Do not have any expertise on anything than the quality and competitive price of the almond butter. Their almond butter does not have a puddle of oil floating on top that drips off a spoon. It has a firm but moist texture that allows eating off the spoon without dripping. Almond butter is great for high blood sugar and high cholesterol.

The many food venders within this Market gives everyone an opportunity to select their favorite foods either to eat their or take home to prepare. Great meat section, deli, bakery, and candy shop. Many other interesting items for sale too. Their pig roasts are great too.

Overall, some pretty good quality goods, but have had a couple clunkers from the bakery...including dry and moldy baked goods. The cheese selection is great and places to eat are pretty good overall, but a little on the high side for pricing. The furniture is priced sky high, even for "amish" furniture, and most are not made of very hard wood (often just pine or maple which scratch easily). The veggies are decent, but again more than any organic stores I've seen everywhere else. They're only open Thur-Sat...closing at 3pm on Saturday, but start shutting down about an hour earlier. If you're there for lunch, good luck getting a seat....but the food's good. The bakery used to do a lot more buy one get one or 1/2 price after noon on Saturday, but that's pretty much gone by the wayside. The Pennsylvania Dutch Market in Germantown (not related) does a better job of that for the baked goods. After noon on Saturday there, you can really get some good deals. Not here.

I went into thinking that there would be honest to goodness Amish made goods and unique foods, but I was wrong. The whole building is divided into a loop with the crafts being in about a quarter of the building. These "Amish made" crafts are primitives made in places like China and Taiwan. I've never heard of Chinese Amish, hmm.... I saw maybe two things that looked to be honest to goodness Amish made crafts, and they were expensive toy barns. There are also "bulk" foods in a portion of the store, but I wouldn't call them bulk sizes. I do have to give credit to the fact that I saw a few hard to find spices on the shelves, like whole star anis. The bakery and whole food portion of the market was also a letdown. The bakery was expensive and offered little that couldn't be found at any Walmart bakery. Other foods offered in the building, like cheeses, jello salads, pasta salads, cuts of meat...were nothing special to the market either. I could go down the road to the Martin's and find the same things. It was kind of funny, I saw a lot of "Amish" people in there using electricity. The locals of Hagerstown must like the market, it was packed! I wasn't so impressed though. PS: Longmeadow Shopping Center has very few businesses filling up the storefronts. The only other large retailer in the shopping center is Ashley Furniture, so there's not very many places to eat or shop at the shopping center itself.

This is a good place to have a nice lunch and find hard to find Pennsylvania Dutch foods. The crafts are standard variety country style items that are not particularly interesting or typical of the area. Craft prices are high.

I enjoyed browsing the PA Dutch Market in Hagerstown. There's plenty of food vendors, and one or two craft/furniture vendors. It is only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Definitely recommended for food lovers!
