we enjoyed our round of golf here, was a great experience and a very challenging course. there were no back ups on the course and was a very enjoyable day on the course
I have seen the course evolve over the past 5yrs. The course used to be privately owned and in average-poor shape; now a Korean Church Group owns it and it seems better. They keep it trimmed and watered, and people seem to enjoy it. It is busy every day, too
As a resident who backs to the second whole, I can attest to how well this course is maintained. It's beautiful and well-manicured on a regular basis. Their are many golfers who play here on a weekly basis and enjoy it. With the affordable prices, it's one of New Markets best kept secrets.
I'm about a 14 handicap. Nothing to brag about, but I know a good course when see it. I thought conditions were fine, greens were cut, water coolers were filled - all telltale signs they were ready for golf season. I had a blast at this course. Not too challenging, and had a few really long holes. Definitely worth playing. You'll have fun.
Played this course all year and it only got better with time. While most courses gave up on conditions this year, this course was well maintain thru out the year. The staff is great . just played it 11-22-12
I haven't been recently - use to be a member...I hear from friends it has gone to weeds and is in poor condition.
I did not realize this course, formerly private, is now a public course. I visited it several times over the summer and early fall, found it a great place to play. Pluses:- The course is very well maintained. Nice wide fairways and smooth greens. Tee boxes are very smooth and well kept. The course is walkable, but given the price (see below) you may as well spring for a cart.- Most of the holes have ball cleaners and a lot have cold water in coolers.- The price is excellent. $20 for a round after 11AM Mon-Fri, $18 after 5PM, $18 all day Tuesdays. The rates are lower between Oct 1 and April 1. Low rates on the driving range as well.- The times I played it was never crowded. Tee times can be booked online, but I walked on a couple of times and never had a problem getting on the course. Other folks playing were also pleasant, letting you go ahead if they were going at a slower pace. The thing folks might see as a minus is that the course is laid out in a neighborhood. Some fairways are between houses, and you have to drive the cart across streets at times to get to the next hole. It also makes for some interesting holes due to having to fit them on sloping land among houses. But I just see this as an added challenge. Also, the driving range is not large and nothing fancy, but I have seen worse. They may also have a grill in the clubhouse, but I have never gone to it (it is on a level above where you sign in for rounds or driving range), so I do not know what it is like.I am a golfer who wants to be challenged but is not "intense", who likes to be out in the fresh air playing with the wife and/or friends. This is a great place for all levels of golfers.
