The Savage Historic Mill has some nice specialty shops. There is a unique per shop with very fresh foods and treats. A great clock shop and a great children's toy store--and all unique. The whole bottom floor has some beautiful antiques for sale. There is a French Bakery and Rams tavern, which has a great menu. Too bad there are many empty shops as well. Hopefully it will last.

Antiques, artisans, gifts, food and more, all in a reconditioned mill that used to make sailcloth. Best appreciated in December when the Christmas trees are decorated for charity. There is bound to be a favorite shop for all tastes and budgets. I prefer the game store as well as going down "amnesia lane" in the various antique shops.

An old cotton mill that has been transformed into a shopping mall, entertainment center, antique stores and rabbit warren of artist's studios. The interior has been updated yet hasn't lost the charm of the original building. Most shops are dedicated to hand-made products. Rams Head Tavern is a great place for lunch or a quick dinner. Be sure to check out the zipline just outside the doors. Well worth a couple of hours of browsing.

While visiting Baltimore we saw the brochure for Historic Savage Mill. It was Saturday and it stated it was open 10am - 9pm. We got there around 4:30, was a 40 minute drive . Quaint place on first entering. Unfortunately over half of the stores were closed by 5:30. Very disappointing! Most that were still open were very expensive. Did not go to Rams Head Tavern, just wanted to leave. Then we had a 40 min ride back to our Hotel. If you are there for a short visit, go somewhere else!

Women will like the upscale bric-a-brac and furniture. There are a lot of things you can touch, handle, but couldn't ever afford. Men will enjoy buying one of a kind gifts for the women in their lives. One building handles auctions of antiques. There is a large basement full of things sold on consignment. I have held a genuine Roman sword, pawed through jewelry dug up by archaeologists, and view countless items of American memorabilia. If you like the show "Pickers" you will enjoy this place. There is a restaurant and a sandwich place which serves ice cream and floats. If you get bored you can climb ropes and slide down zip lines for a small fee. I buy many gifts for girlfriends at Savage Mill. If you look carefully you can find something unique and handmade for every budget. A number of stores sell craft supplies. This places gets very crowded on weekends. If you must visit on a weekend plan on coming as soon as the stores open.

Good place to shop and browse. They have gallerys, clothing, a really good clock shop, a game store and more. Ther is also a good bar/restaurant (Rams Head Tavern) and beautiful walking trails near by.The complex is big and you should check out their website if you are thinking of going.

While visiting Baltimore, we met up with family who lived in the D.C. area. They suggested that we meet in the middle which put us to Savage, Maryland. They had a recommendation for the Ram's Head Tavern so we met them for lunch. The food was delish and plentiful. We went in the Spring and it was nice to walk from the overflow parking area and see all the beautiful houses and gardens and trees in bloom (Spring hadn't quite made it to Ohio yet). It was a nice sunny day that even my kids enjoyed walking the ground and appreciating the beauty and step back in time.

Neat local place with charm. Interesting mix of shops in a historic mill. Great trip from Washington for 1/2 day.

I stopped here with my two teenagers just out of curiosity. We all enjoyed going through the different shops and the kids especially enjoyed the game store where they could go upstairs and try out some of the new games they have for sale. We also went crazy at a second-hand store that sells everything for $5 - blazers, shoes, coats, jeans, etc. - all in excellent shape. We didn't eat at any of the restaurants but we passed an ice cream shop that look amazing!

A variety of shops clustered in an old mill in rural Maryland. The Rams Head Tavern, with outdoor seating overlooking the river, and both dining room, pub, and live music is worth a drive. Excellent food, energetic and enthusiastic service, large portions, and comfortable ambience. Nice place to wander about. The bakery on the main floor of the mill, Bonaparte breads, is superb. Save the bakery for desert and a walkabout. Cross the old bridge and read the signage. Well worth a drive; take your time at lunch.

This is a great place to walk around the old buildings and when you go inside they have all kinds of shops, including crafts, antiques, artistic collections of all kinds. There is a restaurant called the Rams Head that is right in the middle that has fantastic food! We also found a wonderful french bakery in there also. Only spent a little time so am looking forward to going back and spending time in all the shops.

The antique shops at Savage Mill are very high quality. There are probably 50 to 60 individual dealers covering the whole ballpark of yesteryear products. There are restaurants in the complex and also a modern shopping area on the top level. We recommend the antique shops if that is something of interest to you.

A unique collection of shops that are perfect when you need that special gift. From antiques to modern -- very eclectic collection
