merkle wildlife sanctuary

Merkle is an excellent bird sanctuary that our Audubon Club likes to do at least once a year. The trails are well maintained and there is an excellent center with a deck that looks out over the fields of birds gathering for a winter's stay. Bring a lunch and stay a while. It is a very peaceful place to enjoy nature.

I ve been going there for years, if ypu wanta nice place to walk and see nature, its a hidden treasure, and anyone on PG county should try it jus nice to get out for a walk.

Be prepared to spend hours. Great place to go in Upper Marlboro. I didn't realize how rural Upper Marlbor is. Beauiful place to watch species of Birds and waterfowl. Well worth the trek.
