Kurhula Lodge organised Excellent trips to both Kruger Park as well as on their own huge premisses. I've seen all big 5 and much more with good information from the rangers !

The game viewing is so spectacular in Kruger Park ...Accommodation and stores great. We were there in 2000 and had to bring many supplies, now the stores seem to stock all from food to supplies and at good prices. Restaurants have many healthy selections and it taste good

Phalaborwa is highly recommended! Phalaborwa is the only town that has an entrance to Kruger, this means that you have a variety of restaurants, shops and supermarkets to go to, what is very convenient. Also, the gamedrives in KNP here are a must-do! The guides are really amazing, personal and the variety of wildlife is stunning! In comparison to the more southern parts of Kruger you can drive here in the park for hours and still only see a few cars. If you have a nice sighting you are not queuing up and, elephants are definitely guaranteed! Book one of the luxurious and affordable houses in Silonque Bush Estate, grab a bag of ‘braai’ (bbq) groceries in the supermarket and make your own South-African braai while listening to the sound of the bush at night (lions, hyenas, jackals and other night animals).

Kruger National Park is the kind of place you can't get enough of, and that is very lucky for the people living in Phalaborwa, where there is absolutly nothing to do. And lucky for me, who think it is fantastic with a town, where you can count the cars in the streets without problems. - Kruger has all the wild animals of Africa you can dream of. I have been there quite some times and the highlight this last time was the small herd of female elephants guarding the baby rolling in the mud before taking a dip in the small pond.

Fabulous river stop : you are permitted to alight from your vehicle and further on delightful, unusual fever trees and further on from that Crookes Corner, the junction of Mozambique, South Africa and Zimbabwe. Well managed picinic spots along the way.

Buy direct from the reception at Phalaborwa Kruger gate. Way cheaper than booking at your hotel.Always good value and highly informed ranger/ drivers. Only slight downside is the lack of genuine off road safari viewing.

Lots and lots of elephants, zebra, buffalo, impala, lions ans leopards. Love it! You can easily access Kruger with your own car and see lots of wildlife.

David, Donovan, Stanley were all wonderful guides to Kruger National Oark at Phalaborwa Gate. We went on a 6 hour half day safari drive starting at 5am when we saw elephant, giraffe, warthog, hyena, zebra, hippopotamuses, waterbuck, Impala, kudu, steenbock, tortoises and many birds - and we enjoyed breakfast at one of the caps. We also went on a night safari drive from 5pm to 8pm, seeing animals and watching the sun go down. An early morning walk with guides Stanley and Donovan gave us a chance to see some of the small details of the bush - a baboon spider's nest, a baobab tree up close, leopard paw prints - that can't be seen from a vehicle. The guides are great - informative, helpful, devoted to KNP. Good advice to take a jacket or a sweater on early morning and evening safaris - it was chilly in the open vehicles even in December.

Great to see the animals in the wild, did not see much on the night drive.Be prepared to have to drive for a wile to see the animals.

Amazing views, it's pot luck what animals you will see and taking the back roads the park something throws some real Jems at you.My only disappoints was the security, we saw someone walking through the park, we told security and they weren't interested, it could have been a scout for poachers.

Recently my sister and I completed three days in Kruger working through our wonderful Tingala Lodge. Our host connected us with Donovan & David who took us on one day drive, one night drive, and two day treks. In three days we amassed experiences we will never forget - up close encounters with all the big five, lessons in the bush and how the ecosystem supports itself, as well as tracking skills (although I think Donovan would argue we still have room to learn). If you are considering a Kruger trip, you would be doing yourself a disservice to not experience the park through these gentlemen for the reasons below:1) Knowing the Park - Between the two of them, David & Donovan have over 20 years of experience guiding drives and treks within the bush that shows. Whether it's the basics of animal patterns in the park, recent sightings, or interpreting the day's activity, these gentlemen are keenly aware of how to find the best action for your trip.2) Teaching the Customer - Both brought exceptional knowledge of the bush and balanced a levity of comedic entertainment with the gravity of the bush and treating these amazing animals with respect. Our first hike was a private trip with Donovan and so he was able to take time to teach us how to interpret the spoor of various animals to identify the animals and approximate the recency of its presence. We also spent time looking at the remains of carcasses to understand how the animal likely died, sex of the animal, and age. It was by far the most fascinating lesson I've had and kept us enthralled the entire time.3) Something for Everyone - Whether you'd like to go on a trek and experience the bush on foot or enjoy the views from the car, Donovan and David tailor your experience to meet your interests. As they told us, their main goal is to make your experience unforgettable. All with an uncompromising passion to guarantee your safety. My sister and I can't wait to return to South Africa and experience Kruger again. And when we do, we will make sure that David & Donovan are working as these two truly made our time in the park exceptional.

The drives were great but if early morning I suggest you take a coat or scarf to help block out the cold wind.

Went on a 4 hour game drive accompanied by a ranger. While driving around the Big 5 werespotted. You were quite close to elephants, giraffes, rhino & buffalo but the cats were quiteelusive but finally were spotted. The ranger is full of information about the park & its animals. As you leave about 5.30 am & it is still cold I would recommend you wear a beanie as you aresitting up high in an open vehicle.

Went on an evening drive and mentioned to the guide we had not yet seen any leopards or white rhinos. He made sure to drive us to the places he knew were good for these animals and we were not disappointed. Fantastic evening, guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and patient, wish we could have gone on another drive but had to leave the next day.
