Photos of these lighthouse ruins have been used in numerous commercials so it is nice to see them. The area is beautiful and great for photos. The ruins can be difficult to find if you don't have directions - there are no signs. As you are heading north on 107 towards Aguadilla airport, you will pass a golf course. There is only one road into the golf course - turn left on to it. If you reach the road on the right side leading into the airport, you've gone too far. Drive though the golf course (keeping an eye out for golf balls) and stay on the dirt road as it veers left. You will see the ruins a little ways down the road. The road can be bumpy and is not rental car friendly. So you may want to use some caution if in a rental car. It is worth a stop at the beach you will pass along the way. It's a beautiful beach.
"Take the road through the golf course" we were told! My friend and I turned down what looked like a sketchy driveway and found amazing views! We parked near the lighthouse ruins, took in views of the ocean & walked down the coastline! The waves were huge and frothy as the smashed against the rocks and the greenery only added to the scenery! Well worth the adventure but I wouldn't advise trying to drive all the way down- unless you have a truck!
There is just an old crumbled building. Difficult to get there by car. you will need a jeep or suv to visit specially when the ground is wet and muddy.
The actual ruins are cool but the panoramic views from the site are fantastic. The off-road trip going to the ruins and after is wonderful too. There isn't a ton to do other than walk around, look at the views and take in nature but it is beautiful.
Great place for pictures. With the lighthouse ruins, the rocky beach and the lush green plants all around, this is the place for photos. There are some old delapidated building nearby with graffiti all over them. It is a quiet area and we only saw a few other people when we were there.
You have to drive through a golf course to reach it, but the ruins, the view, and the likelihood that there won't be anyone else there makes it worth the diversion!
Located off 107 there is a road that goes through a golf course, follow the bumpy road to the ruins. Beautiful view! Enjoy La Ponderosa Beach to the left and Crash Point Beach to the right of the lighthouse ruins.
Old Spanish lighthouse located inside the base next to the old fire range. Beautiful drive down but be careful across the golf course, ball flying a rounds. This has been a cool spot for tv commercials and modeling picture taking.
I remember some years ago while studying at Mayaguez Campua of UPR, we used to. to the Aguadilla beaches Chrashboat and Borinquen Beach. Last Saturday I took a local group of friends to theruins at Borinquen Beach. I took the assignment to learn the history of thr ruins. As per my internet sourcs the ruins belong to the first lighthouse in Aguadilla, buit in 1889 andnot in use since 1917.
