Aside from with the pre-Columbian artifacts, ship models, and old photos, the most riveting part of this tiny museum is a documentary film about elders on the island. They explain what life was like for them when it was an agricultural community, disrupted and injured by the U.S. Navy's bombing practices. Relations with the Navy were complex, though; all those men 3 months of every year encamped on the island meant a welcome influx of money and jobs for islanders. A microcosm of the history of Puerto Rico and the United States.Nice little gift shop, too.

In Small museum but has enough to provide the background of Culebras. You can also purchase a gift. We appreciate in a raining day.

Don't miss the Museo on your trip! Go there first and learn about the history of the island and the story behind the US military involvement. Admission is a meager $1, but consider more. The staff are super helpful. Sit down and watch one of more of the short videos to learn more about this beautiful place!

I know you want to get to the beach. But visiting Culebra's museum will give you a quick snapshot of what living in Culebra has been for decades. IT should be a short trip and visit but one full of knowledge that will help you appreciate your surroundings on your trip.

There is some unique history to the island. Apparently they didn't like having the US Navy here in the 1970s. It's only a buck - so stop in and learn about the island.

Even though Culebra is a small island it has a lot of history. From the time of the Tianos through 400 years of Spanish rule, the take over of the US Navy and right up to today there is so much to read and see and learn about.

I believe you should stop by this place. It is very small and only has few pieces in exhibition but its host is absolutely engaged with local culture and will make your visit memorable. The suggested entrance donation is only 1 dollar. It has a small shop for souvenirs.

This tiny little museum does a great job of telling you about the island history! There are all kinds of neat artifacts and fun stuff to learn!

This Museum is a must to go if you are in Culebra! Lot of history, testimonies of Culebra residents during the Military Occupation and a great and very nice host that explain and answer your questions! It will take you from 45 min to one hour of your trip!

We loved visiting this museum! The lady that greeted us was very nice, she gave us tips and tricks about the beaches and restaurants. Its small so it won't take much time of your day and you will learn interesting things about the island!

The Culebra Museum of History is well worth a visit. It's opening hours are seemingly as cavalier and whimsical as the operating hours of all things Culebra, but if you are there on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, then I recommend you pay a short visit. This is not a huge museum, but what they have is very interesting and is clearly laid out. Information about the Indian heritage, with artifacts found that are unique to the island; information about the sea turtles and other aquatic life that surround the island; and pictures and video telling the history of settlement on the island from those who lived it. It's a small, single room museum. But it's very low cost and worth a look. Go and you'll learn a bit about the beautiful place you're visiting.

Cool place nice to get a history lesson on the place you. Makes you appreciate the place a little more. I was there for a month so I had time to really get to know the place.

This museum had been highly recommended to us and we really wanted to visit. Unfortunately, on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday (the only days they are open) we could attend, they were closed because their person was sick. It's sad if there is only one volunteer to staff this important place to learn about Culebra and its history.

Visited the Culebra museum for the second time recently after 3 years, and found new exhibits making it a completely new experience. They were showing the video, "Memories of Culebra" with English subtitles, which was worth seeing again. The suggested donation of $1 makes this museum a super good value for the money.
