Turtle River Park is the great place to go and just hang out, or relax at and it has ponds filled with of course turtles and fish and plenty of sitting areas and its right by all the shops and restaurants.
what a nice walk we had there the views ,you can just sit down and relax. It is a lovely park with different trees and all sort of flowers.lovely
A peaceful park to have a wander in what can be a noisy town. Turtles in the water ,with baby turtles in a nursery. Gentle.
Turtle River Park is a great spot for those with kids or who just want a nice morning walk close to town. There are a few entrances and you can walk around and spot turtles in the water in different sections of the park. There are benches if you want to sit and read, picnic or rest and there are bathrooms near the front entrance off Main Street. It is a nice place to get photos too. It is open and very safe, I have walked my children there by myself each year that we visit. We typically go for ice cream down the street and walk it off in the park. There are groundsmen and attendants at the rest rooms if you have any questions while you are there.
Stunningly beautiful and accessible falls provided you can manage steps. Very quiet and peaceful - just me, my guide and a local family. Pity the hotel on site closed some time ago because I would love to have stayed here. The crowds at Dunns River Falls don't realise what they are missing!
Don't miss this, better and more to offer than Dunn's River Falls. You have the same refreshing water and plenty of pools ot basque in, but NONE of the crowds. Plus, the aviary is a hoot!
Small little park to walk through on your way through town. Very pretty. There is a playground for the kids. BYOTP(bring your own toilet paper, just in case you need it), there was none when we were there.
Nice little park for a quieter meander through Ochi. Apparently there are real turtles there although we didn't see any the day we were there. There was a Gospel concert setting up at the time, that we heard a few days later and sounded good even though it was pouring with rain. Nothing particularly special or worth going out of the way to visit.
We were in Jamaica for our honeymoon, we visited the Turtle River park. Great place and atmosphere, will definitly love to bring the kids and family back.
There are lots of attractions for all the family, they have a pond with fishes in it and turtles, beautiful landscape and very peaceful to sit and relax.
An absolute hidden Jem.when we arrived we were sent out with a guide and a photographer. after doing my homework on when cruise ships were in port we ended up only ever seeing one other group on our whole visit there. The waterfalls are amazing. You get to experience them up close and personal (prepare to get wet, if that's what you fancy)
Very nice, the only green space in this town thay you are not asked to pay to be at unless it is rented for private promoted events.Grounds are well kept.........................................................................
I love the view of the park, the water is refreshing to my body. This is a perfect area one can go and meditate, the park have benches, beautiful flowers and a clean ponds.
I like the fact there is such a spot in the city, however I noticed the following:Swing seats were FILTHYMy niece, nephew and kids were on the swings and once they hopped off their shorts/shirts were covered in a thick layer of dirt from the swings. Snack shop had nothing but dry goodsIn the past I've purchased ice cream and drinks in addition to crackers and chips from the snack shop but on this particular visit I could not do so. The weather was unbearably hot and this was disappointing.Fish and turtle ponds need tending toThe water levels seemed to be really low for the fish ponds in comparison to past visits.Parking feesThe cost to park is $150JMD per day or $50JMD per hour. We parked for free across the street at Courts. This is a nice spot to stop and chat or rest under one of the many gazebos, however I wouldn't go out of my way to come back.
There was a wedding photos happening, little kids enjoying the grass, good spot to bring a take out lunch.
