Being originally from Thunder Bay I have been going to Centennial Park since I was a little kid. We use to go on grade school learning excursions! This park is a 1910 old logging camp and museum. There are walking paths, a water fall, swimming, picnicking and even a small farm with animals. You will feel as if you were thrown back in time! There is a bridge that goes over a small river that takes you to another part of the park where you can walk the quiet trails and see wildlife and gorgeous wild flowers and forest. This is the first place I so a Trillium which is the Province of Ontario's flower. This park is great for families of all ages. A true must for anyone from out of town!

A beautiful, quiet, peaceful park with trails to use as much in the Summer as in the Winter time! We always fun there. In the spring and summer time, you can see farm animals, horses, pigs, chicken. A wonderful place to go with your children, activity sets made of wood, made for every age! There is a room that you can book, open to everyone and heated in the Winter time with bathrooms.

When I visited here, I did not get to see the much of the park. There is a mini water fall swimming area here perfect for smaller kids or people who are not very strong swimmers. It has mini water fall areas you can sit and play in, and a deeper swimming whole. Was quiet and we had more privacy here then at other swimming places. The bigger version of this swimming hole. See my review and pictures on Trowbridge Falls. (Both these areas are 100% safe with swimming Knowledge. They look deep with strong current but most sports are just over ankle deep.)

There are two parts to this park. Arundel St splits the two. One area has a neat train that one can take a ride through part of the park. There is also an area set up like a lumber camp with full sized buildings made of logs. It is very interesting. There is also a barn yard with various farm animals. There are numerous trails throughout the park and extending beyond hwy 11. There is a good map available if you are interested in hiking or riding. Just Google Centennial Park trails Thunder Bay. On the other side of Arundel Street is Boulevard Lake. It is a beautiful area with good walking and riding trails.

Beautiful little park, great for kids with lots of playground equipment and a little farm. Did the train ride last year and that was fun too - very reasonable. The road in is paved but very bumpy - keeps one down to the 30 km/hour speed limit. Washrooms very clean.

We did not do this this year. But my memories from the first time are great. There is a small animal farm for the kids to look at not necessarily pet and there is the Muskeg Express Train. The train ride is a little rickety but for the younger train enthusiasts it is fun to ride.

Our two year old was in her glory after a very disappointing visit to Chippewa, where they would not take interact or ccard, animals looked deprived and rides were not open. Thank goodness we made up for it at Centennial.. it was great.

I have spent most of my life doing activities around Centennial Park. I know every square inch of it and have nothing but wonderful memories. I always come back to this part of Thunder Bay whenever I visit the city. Its what Northern Ontario is all about.

The scenery, the grounds are well kept, you can meander...it's wonderful. The water, the trails, the swings, the trees...go and you'll love it; all year round.

Thunder Bay has a beautiful waterfront board walk with many interesting art displays, buildings and beautiful views. Bring your camera. The Visitors' Centre is a wonderful old historic building. Don't miss this on your trip to Thunder Bay!

We stopped here on an RV trip to Alberta from Ontario. The kids loved it and we enjoyed a BBQ outside on the grass. Cute barn with animals for the kids to visit, no charge for admission to enjoy, bravo to the municipality for keeping place like this for us!If you are driving by, well worth a stop.
