我的丈夫和女婿今天去了Crocosaurus湾的the Cage of Death。
We really liked this place, Not what it seems from the street front. The size is very deceiving. The animals all look very healthy & everything is clean. The reptile display is one of the best we have seen. Bought a locals year pass so we can come back again.
You don't need kids to enjoy this aquarium. Really informative presentation. Staff are friendly and helpful. I'd highly recomend the crocodile show in particular feeding the juvenile crocs
I had no idea how big this facility was – I have walked past it numerous times on previous trips to Darwin, and had no idea there was an extensive crocodile aquarium and reptile attraction smack in the middle of Darwin city mall!!!We spent almost 2 hours walking through Crocosaurus Cove. It was a very informative excursion, and even though I grew up in croc country, I found it very interesting. There are a number of tanks with some very big crocs (some you can ‘swim’ with from the safety of a tank), one with a breeding pair and nest, and more tanks with juvenile crocs. There is an extensive reptile display – snakes, lizards/goannas, turtles etc – with the opportunity to handle some of the snakes and lizards during one of the hosted walks. The staff were very friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. There is also an opportunity to have your photo taken handling a young croc. Like all parks, the photos were up there in terms of cost, but I was really happy that the staff were more interested in giving our little one the opportunity to handle the young croc, and they were not the slightest bit pushy about buying the photos afterwards. We did buy the photos though, they were great! Entry price was fair, with free entry for the little ones under 4. We enjoyed our visit, and I think this was the highlight of the trip for our little one (3.5 years old). Very much recommend a visit to Crocosaurus Cove.
I went here recently and swam with the crocs, absolutely amazing. I hold the bragging rights for the 1st full cage with axle, a beautiful big male Croc. If you go to darwin it's a must do.
We visited this fantastic park a while ago and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Home to lots of giant crocs as well as the babies both saltwater and freshwater. We got to feed the smaller crocs with a pole then witnessed just what damage a bite from one of them could do to a huge solid block of ice. There is an option for you to hold a baby croc and get your photo taken then you have the option to purchase the photo.
The highlight of our stay in Darwin! We went on the Cage of Death experience, getting into the water with William & Kate (saltwater crocs) and saw them eating swimming, bumping the box we were in.It was a bucket list experience to see these amazing creatures. The power in their jaws & bodies in general is astounding. The rest of the place is very interesting too regarding crocodiles, their habitats etc... you can get your picture taken with a baby croc. there are plenty of other things to see, fish, rays, turtles...Even if you don't take part in the Cage of Death, Crocosaurus cove is definitely worth a visit.
A great venue, lots of crocs, all sizes, and lots of reptiles to also look at, a very good shop to buy all your souvenirs.
We were in Darwin on a Sunday in March so there really isn't a great many options for interesting things to do so Crocosaurus Cove it was. This isn't a huge attraction but you can get to Big Crocs, Baby Crocs, Fish and the Reptile House. If you are up for it (& can afford the $160) you can go in a Perspex cage in the water with the Crocs. In the reptile house we got to see a few animals being feed and then go to hold a snake and lizard for as long as you wanted really. The staff were really nice and the reptile guys were pretty informative with a sense of humour. All in all it a pleasant attraction when you can't get to rivers to see the Crocs.
We had a great day. I booked in for the first cage trip. My wife watched and got into all sorts of friendly banter with the staff (at my expense of course). I would thoroughly recommend the cage experience to anyone. The staff were great, they looked after us and we had a lot of fun with them. There was a food court and even a bar. The Crocs were well cared for and the cages were clean unlike another place we visited. There is also a large aquarium. We spent most of the day there but with a pass you could come and go as you pleased.Don't miss it.
I went with my brother he went in the cage and he loved it the staff were fantastic and he got some spectacular photos of the whole experience, I would recommend this to anyone visiting Darwin.
