commonwealth meteorological station

We visited Cobar late December this year and were very surpised to find out that we could visit the meteorological station. The visit lasts for a little less than an hour (perfect for kids) at a fixed time. We were given detailed explanations on the measuring instruments, what the data was being used for, how weather stations around the world were being coordinated and we saw the meteorological balloon being launched.We really enjoyed the visit and yes it is free.
