In the last 12 months Great Lakes Council have made major improvements to the launching ramp and Forster Marina You can launch or retrieve 4 boats at a time. There are 4 washing bays and a great cleaning table to scale and fillet the fish. Just be careful with the pelicans they have pinched a few of our fish over the years.Berths are available for cruising pleasure craft supplying water, power and waste water pump out. This is available via the caravan park adjacent to the Marina.The Marina is a pretty place beside the entrance to Wallis Lake. There is a kids playground, bbqs and picnic tables. Have a fish off the break wall or have a swim to the island under the bridge and enjoy the beautiful Great Lakes.

So many cafes parks and picnic places so nice you can fish dining in a restuarant overlooking boats and water and see the fish walk along the foreshore go on a cruise or hire a boat or go on a fishing trip only had 4 days there needed more

We had a week in Forster and I thought it would be good to get some fishing in so I headed to the local boat hire and asked about hire rates for two or three days over our stay. Well it's low season and not one of their boats are out so you would expect a good price right, not so it's one crazy price for four hours hire the same as peak holiday time so fishing in Forster became land based. Also if you decide to buy your own boat as it would be cheaper and feel like some fresh oysters on the way home give the local supplier a miss in Little St he sells them for $14.50 doz for the small ones which are $1.50 more than the same Wallis Lake oysters through a retail outlet 300 km's away work that out !!!! These local businesses are so far out of touch, people are happy to pay a fair price but nobody likes being ripped off.
