How disappointing. Looked forward to taking our grand kids on the train ride, arrived on Thursday at 9.30 am and waited at the train stop. And waited. Then some people walking past said the train is not going today! Great. Surely they could have put a notice up saying the train is not operating today. We had checked the web site for the operating day and times but nothing mentioned about it not running today. So bad communication from the council and not good for travellers.

Enjoyed the train ride as part of our Maryborough experience. I had no idea of the history of this region with steam trains. A short trip but enjoyable and friendly. Good value for money.

Here's why? This amazing replica steam train showcases wonderful engineering of the past and also, the engineering skill of living Maryborough Engineer in being able to build this up from mere snap shots. But whilst reliving all this technical prowess, one enjoys the scenery of Maryborough's old waterfront area (where by forebears arrived in the mid 1800's along with many thousands of other) , through beautiful Queens Park as well as taking in views of old historic buildings that have been very well maintained and are historic treasures in their own right. The volunteers who man this attraction all have a wealth of knowledge and freely exhibit pride in this Historic City. But the children are just as excited too! The cost is quite minimal for such an attraction. The Mary Ann runs regularly so check it out and hop aboard!

All aboard on this great train trip for both young & old. We got on board whilst looking around beautiful Maryborough. At $3 p/person it's great value. The volunteers are very passionate about this piece of history. Thanks for the journey.

Travelled on the historical MaryAnn, through beautiful Queens Park with a tour by the Muddy Mary River. A short and pleasant adventure.

Run purely by volunteers. We received brilliant insight into Steam Train History. For a small Gold Coin Donation we road through the park on a miniature steam train. A thoroughly enjoyable day.

The price to ride this slice of history is a mere $3. This means you can visit whenever you want. The adults - all six of us and the children loved it and the history that goes with it. The icing on the cake for the children was the chance to blow the steam whilstle. Thank you to all the volunteers that continue to support this wonderful train.

A very pleasant day in the very pleasant park with a trip on the Mary Anne; excellent!! There's something about steam engines that attracts the small boy in all of us and this is no exception; history alive with people who are passionate about their subject.A commentary while the train is running would be very welcome, but this is a minor quibble; great fun and recommended!!

It was a surprise to see this running. As residents of Hervey Bay we do visit Maryborough every now and then and we were lucky today. the train runs every Thursday and on the last Sunday of every month. there are two sections and to cover the entire route will cost $5. This is an original simple functional steam engine which runs from Sussex St through Queens Park and up along the Mary River passing the river side businesses mostly now abandoned since the January and February floods. The carriages are comfortable and each is made from a different Queensland native timber. On Sundays the "ticket station" is at the bottom of Wharf street with a delightful lady playing an original steam organ, powered now by a vacuum. She plays great music. There are seats where you can watch the river while you wait for the train, and very helpful volunteers. Both the Town Crier and Mary Heritage put in an appearance while we were there. Surprising to see the hidden surprises that exist in Queens Park. On Thursday, by the way, the ticket station is at the Sussex st end of the Park.
