Well organized tour with experienced, knowledgeable and entertaining guides (that make a mean damper :-)). Covers all the bases - the river tour with crocs, the Oz culture and the wetlands environment. And there are even performing birds (well, sort of), and a crow called Russell. Well worth the entry fee.

It rained heavily for most of the day but that did not take away from this excellent experience. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and entertaining. We saw plenty of crocs so got lots of great pics. The tea and damper and bbq lunch were very enjoyable. The mosquitos however were very friendly but there was plenty of bug spray provided as well as rain gear. Would definitely recommend to all!!

We had a fantastic day out, the guide was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and genuine. The river boat tour is the highlight, seeing the crocs in their natural habitat and getting a really good look at them too. The wagon tour across the wetlands was also interesting. There was a good variety of birdlife and natural flora to see and hear about. And the food far surpassed any other organised tour lunch I've ever had. Really good value.

Well worth every cent, Steve was full of information including history. Would recommend this trip to everyone, it was so so informative food was great, loved Steve's sense of humour just added that extra touch of fun and we did see crocodiles and learnt how to use certain things on the land like the aboriginals. What can I say loved it must see and do

We had a great trip on the Proserpine River and saw many small as well as several very large crocodiles. This was followed by a BBQ lunch and then a second excursion viewing the local flora and fauna. Arriving back in camp, we were treated to billy tea and damper. Both our guides were excellent and knew a great deal about their subject matter. Would highly recommend.

This was by far the best day excursion we have done. The day started with a close up look at some snakes and some information about Australian snakes. The was followed by "billy can tea" and damper. Then off on a 2 hour tour through the wetlands to see the flora and fauna all the time we were presented with an excellent commentary from a really knowledgable guide. We had a bush soap demonstration and got to lick an ant's bum - yum. BBQ lunch was provided. This wasn't the usual burger and snags but beef, fish and chicken plus bread and salads. The lunch was plentiful and delicious. After lunch it was onto the boat for two hours of getting up close to the crocs. Again the tour was enhanced with the guide providing an ongoing informative commentary. We saw plenty of crocs ranging from babies to large males. There was no rushing, the guide took his time, explained in detail about what we were seeing and give everyone time to have a good look. We were also impressed that the guide took the time to pick up any litter he saw around the place. A jacket or thick jumper is a must, it got chill on the river, a stiff chilly breeze blowing. The loo was a bit of an experience. All-in-all a really excellent day out enhanced by friendly, knowledgeable and informative guides. This was exceptional value for money. We would definitely do it again.

Having had a disappointing crocodile tour experience a couple of years ago, I was not expecting much, but this was a wonderful experience, not just the river trip, when we saw large crocodiles very close up, but also the afternoon bush tour. The two tour leaders were very knowledgeable, and succeeded in engaging the interest of both the thirteen year old and four year old travelling with us. An excellent day out, very professionally organised.

Holiday was during winter, so we saw 3 big males and a handful of females sunning themselves on the bank. The two tour guides were tops, and lunch and tea were delicious. Definitely on of the best tours I've been on period!!!!!

A very enjoyable day out in some of the natural area around Proserpine. Saw many Crocs which was a highlight indeed, especially the one with many babies. Got some great photos and the commentary provided was very informative. You MUST ensure you take a warm coat or similar if doing this tour in winter as the wind up the river was freezing. I know this sounds crazy for Nth QLD but it does get cold there. Don't look at the sun shining and assume it will be warm. Didn't see a lot on the land tour but I guess that is nature for you, but still the general commentary was interesting regarding the flora and fauna but the river tour made up for this to some degree.Loved the flushing sound on what was very much a non-flushing toilet.Morning tea was fun even if the damper was blackened on the bottom and a little uncooked. Still quite enjoyable indeed. Billy tea was likely to be great if you are a tea drinker but if you are not then water is for you. Would have been nice to have herbal tea options, Milo or chocolate even.BBQ lunch was quite adequate with fish, chicken, sausages and an adequate selection of salads. A vegetarian patty was available, if prearranged, for vegetarians but all those in our group who ate them had tummy aches and the runs after. A little concerning but didn't last too long thankfully.I would consider this tour on the expensive side, especially for a family to do it. A little overpriced perhaps. Comparing it to other tours $85 would seem much more reasonable for adults. Some people staying near us disregarded it due to the cost.Transfer from hotel was included. It is quite a drive out of town.Enjoyed very much.

The day was visited the weather wasn't too great with heavy showers in the morning, but base camp has a large covered area and they gave us all rain coats which were great. The guys running the place were really friendly and our guide Steve was really knowledgeable. I enjoyed both parts of the trip, showing what was on the land and talking about traditional use for bush fauna then the crocs. On the boat you could get quite close and Steve always made sure that both sides of the boat got to see the croc regardless of where it was. The billy tea and damper for morning tea were great and the lunch had a great selection so there was something for everyone. We'll worth the price, great entertainment and learning experience.

Hubby and I attended this crocodile safari while we were in Airlie Beach in May... Our tour guide was informative, very entertaining.. The first part of tour was river cruise looking for crocodiles, we were lucky to see many adult crocs along with varies size baby crocs. I enjoyed hearing about the personality of each of the crocs, and their stories. The boat is able to get very close a little too close for comfort, but great for camera shots! This went for approx 2 hours.. When we finished we gathered back to camp, where we enjoyed damper of two choices, plain or with raisins. Washed it done with some delicious billy tea, that of course was drawn by the usual bush method! Next on the agenda was a interesting and relaxing tractor driven ride through the wetlands... Finished with an amazingly delicious bbq with many salad choices.. Great value for money! Well organised, Would happily do again. Sensible flat shoes, warm jacket. It rained on our tour but we were given rain ponchos from our guides. Good idea to take some money as they did have drinks and souvenirs to purchase... Fabulous

Weather was awful in Airlie Beach and all boat trips were cancelled. Heard about this trip through Mad Travel and I was not disappointed. Hostel/hotel pick up, excellent food and lots of it, 2x tours which were excellent and obviously saw crocodiles in the wild. Would recommend to anyone and not just for when the boats aren't running!

Myself and two others did the croc safari in early December 13. We had a great day out, the tour guide certainly knows his stuff, we saw lots of crocs and loads of babies and I mean loads! It's also nice that the boat pulls up at different angles close to the crocs so everyone can see :) , the morning tea and lunch were also very good. I would definitely recommend this for a day out for anyone :)
