taminick cellars

This was our first port of call on a Saturday morning (and my first visit to the area). Driving in past some century old vines, I knew that we were in for something out of the ordinary & so it proved Luckily we had beaten the RUSH and could talk & taste at our leisure. Our host (3rd generation of the family) was very accommodating and gave us the full rundown of its history. Whilst we tasted their wines, I was there primarily for the fortifieds. The muscat was very much to my taste. They also have a boutique brewery operation "Black Dog Ale". I made sure that I had an ale with the black dog (family pet) whilst the our host was busy packing our orders. It was excellent. They also have a cottage that is available for families and/or groups to rent.Seriously worth a visit. But ensure that you are not rushed for time, you won't regret it.

If you want a real down to earth winery experience, then you can't go past Taminick Cellars. The third and fourth generation family own and operate this rustic winery and cellar door operation. Great regional wine and really affordable price's great visitors in an old quaint cellar. They also have a brewery offering a great range of craft beers. This place is off the beaten track but well worth searching out!
